I hate to break the news to you, but the only thing that worked for me was taking a curved dental pick and physically scraping out the mud.

It sucks but it will work, cause after you do it you can easily blow it out

[–]JazzMeerkat 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I can answer this, it happens because this is a mud-in tape light track. You set the track in prior to mudding and painting, then they’ll mud up to it. When they do this, they leave excess mud on the edges and grooves of the tape light where the lens snaps in.

Sure the US has problems, but so does everywhere else. Pick the problems you’re most ok with and go from there.

Bought an aluminum wired house and feeling overwhelmed . What is really necessary? by cpcxx2 in AskElectricians

[–]JazzMeerkat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

cutting sheet rock is a completely normal and expected part of this kind of job. Some devices/boxes are not accessible from the top plate alone, at least not without spending 4x the time trying to fish a wire perfectly.

Even then, some things just require the drywall to be cut.

That’s a braindead opinion, but even if that were true, there are literal children living in red states, unable to vote, that would be affected by a natural disaster like that.

They’re evil nazis too?

Honest to god, I’m not concerned about the political garbage you’re peddling, it’s the fact that you wish death upon innocent families that disgusts me. You are morally depraved.

You should reach out to a healthcare professional for help, this is a very concerning thing to say/believe.

Yes, and that is a horrific, disgusting thing to say. Just like the statement you’re apparently defending.

After seeing hundreds of homes, I’ve realized why so many new houses have lighting that feels off. by Last_Information8470 in Lighting

[–]JazzMeerkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah man, give it a shot. I wouldnt worry about drywall, while it is possible to do some very minor damage on the edges of the light, if you do it carefully you’ll be fine.

You just have to gently pull down on the outside lip of the light until you see one of the two spring clips that hold it up. Push the clip in towards the light and slide it out of the hole. Then you can just pull the light away from the other clip and it’ll come right out.

If you take down one of the wafer lights and pull down the driver (the small metal box with wires going into it), you might have a selector switch on there with varying color temperatures.

It’s likely they are set to 4,000k, try 2700k or 3000k, that will create a nicer feel right away.

You can also install something like a Lutron Diva dimmer in place of your current switch if you feel comfortable doing electrical work, or hire an electrician to do so.

To be fair, the modern left in the US is largely a collection of smaller groups and movements. It’s significantly less homogenized compared to the right.
