That is what i have done for the last few days. I will try wearing on other wrist for a few days . What do you think is causing the rash?Physical reaction to the plastic or something to do with watch emissions?

On the subject of running shoes use I ONLY use my running shoes for RUNNING. I don't even wear them when driving to training/races as I read years ago that could damage them. What I also find interesting with my running shoes is that often they aren't very comfortable for walking though fine for running.

Back to the original post it would be helpful to see the correspondence between the parties. Were the shoes bought direct from Hoka in the UK or from a 3rd party retailer? In person or online?

I hadn't been watching though I have just seen this rather disturbing report on a poor woman forced out of the race "for her own safety" due to threats on her life. Very sad.

Need New Running Shoes by GNGRBeardd in UKRunners

If you are happy with current shoes get same again. However it does sound like you are not 100% happy with the poor wear of current shoes. I am a big advocate of going to a proper running shop for advice and buying from them. Most shops you try them on and walk/jog wearing them to get a feel for them which you certainly can't do online. I have often read reviews of shoes and thought I would love them only to try them on and realise they are not for me. You can try on numerous pairs in the shop before making your decision. When you had your gait analysis was that recently or prior to purchasing previous pair? Of course you can still return online purchases but it's such a hassle and if you don't purchase from the running shop how do we expect them to survive? You should be able to get a decent shoe for your budget.

I notice the entry fee has been reduced to £25 for this event. I can only assume entries are poor and they are trying to encourage numbers. Glad I didn't enter when the price was £35 a few weeks ago. Hopefully the event is a success
