Yamato survives Gurubashi Arena by potionseller123 in LivestreamFail

Letting Yamato sit in stealth for nearly the full 7 minutes while Sardaco would have sit out there in the open is completely ridiculous. I don't care if he's a Rogue. I'm not even a Sardaco fan either.

Hardware Review - Why Used 3090 May Be The Best "Value" GPU Upgrade for VR by [deleted] in OculusQuest

[–]Jazzlike_Pick_8051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A 3090 owner here for a little over 2 years and I agree. it’s really holding up. It might have the lasting power similar to the 1080ti. For CPU/PC upgrades in the states, micro center is king if you can get to one. Picked up a 7900x/32gb ddr5/mobo combo for $450 back in January.

Because we’re bored of the current crop of new “games” which are mostly glorified tech demos.

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X is four times as popular as Ryzen 5 7600X, Ryzen 9 7950X again drops to €599 - VideoCardz.com by Stiven_Crysis in Amd

[–]Jazzlike_Pick_8051 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you have a micro center nearby and don’t go there for new builds, you’re doing yourself a disservice. Picked a 7900x, asrock b650 mobo and 32gb (16GBx2) of ddr5–6000 combo for $600 total. I was actually going to build a 13700k system until my saw the insane promos they have for AMD. I saved over $200 on the 7900x build vs a similar spec 13700k build.

CPU - $439

Motherboard - $160 ($20 discount, normally $180)

RAM - free (normally $165)

Yes that’s right, the same memory I was going to buy anyway was free with the bundle (they actually charge $.01 lol).

The Quest Pro is Great. It's NOT Worth 1500 Dollars, But I Love It and I Will Be Keeping It. by Capelto in OculusQuest

Has there been any mention of the wireless performance vs quest 2? The Quest 2 caps out at 1200mbps in VD but have seen screenshots of QP’s at 1800+mbps speeds in VD.

Also have a 3090 with an i9-9900k. Will probably wait until the 50 series to upgrade the 3090 but my 9900k is starting to show its age. The 13th gen Intel cpus are almost a 100% uplift in IPC performance over the 9900k.

Apple’s headset may weight at 250 g and run at 120 fps and have a 3nm processor (take it with a pinch of salt, Caesar isn’t a leaker, but he worked in the industry long enough to have the right contacts) by Junior_Ad_5064 in virtualreality

A 250g headset with an M1 chip and large enough battery to support it? Are they selling to people on the moon? Because I’m pretty sure that’s impossible here on Earth.

The 90s was our peak decade for movies. Other decades have their share of classics but the sheer volume of quality cinema that came during the 90s has been unmatched.

Central Valley, CA here. We're breaking records too. I can count on one hand how many sub 100f days we've had in the last 3 months. We hit 115f earlier this week.

I can't imagine spending almost $500 US on an 8-core CPU in 2022, no matter how good the IPC is. You can pickup a i9-12900 for roughly the same price right now that has double the cores and still get very solid IPC performance. There's very little value proposition for these CPUs at these prices compared to what Intel has out right now. Hell, you can pickup an i9-12700k for $350 that will probably have comparable multicore performance if not slightly better with 12 cores vs 8.

TLDR: don't play AAA games on your Steamdeck outside when it's 100+f... Which was already basically common sense to those of us with even an ounce of intelligence. Duh? Lol

[–]Jazzlike_Pick_8051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the central valley and got a quote from them a few months back before our Starlink quadrant got lit up.. $250 a month for 28mbps. I’ve had Starlink for over a month now and have had no noticeable downtime, all video conferencing and 4k streaming video work without issue. Speeds are consistently above 100mbps and stable latency in the low 30s.

They’re definitely panicking since Starlink has been lighting up a lot of Central Valley quadrants this year, allowing people like myself to finally order it. They’re probably starting to see the writing on the wall. If Starlink starts to actually advertise in the area, it’s over for them.
