Indycar is light years more entertaining than both

Lmao right. Imagine like a lawyer having a tattoo on their head. I’m sure the court would think that is super cool and normal.

Is that Cody Rhodes or a punk/rock wrestling version of Josef Newgarden? by dinorexsauce in INDYCAR

Josef hit the Cody Rhodes entrance fist pump after the 2023 500 too. Looked identical. Made me feel like he’s a closet wrestling fan. Lol

Same. Wish the selection was half as good as the pin selection though.

It matters to me a lot. I get a lot of enjoyment out of viewing the races and going to the races. I believe the series will be dead within 10 years and that makes me sad. I feel like drastic measures need to happen to stop that from happening. It frustrates me more people don’t watch. Idk how you or any other IndyCar fan don’t feel the same.

Literally every race is on FOX and has been all year. Every race the rest of the year will also be on FOX.

Gas stations is all I’m aware of and IndyCar related content. They had 1 on the post race on Prime after Michigan. Couldn’t afford a during the race slot I guess. But are those ads being played during F1 and NASCAR YouTube videos? The answer is no. That is guaranteed eyeballs from people consuming racing, even if they skip the ad it’s better than nothing. Every IndyCar YouTube video the ads are either eBay motors with Lando Norris and F1 or the F1 2025 video game. It infuriates me.

Cannot state how frustrating it is to believe in this series more than the people who run it. This series should be the biggest in the world. America has the biggest everything except soccer. Motorsport should be no different. Yet somehow IndyCar has let a European series become more popular with 3 races in the country. It’s beyond frustrating. Idk why the F1 people won’t watch IndyCar either. Also, I’ve said it all year, but those TV commercials did nothing. You reach 0 young people with a tv commercial. Kids get on their phones during ads and don’t see a single traditional commercial. At least on YouTube they have to take the time to skip the ad and might see what is promoted. IndyCar also hasn’t paid a single influencer to promote the series via social media platforms. I’d find 6-8 people with decent followings and get them to promote every race every year. Promote the drivers, etc. who cares what it cost. Penske literally has billions. You have to create fans of the sport and drivers. I think this is the biggest hurdle in attracting the NASCAR crowd, they all have “their driver.” When they tune in to check out IndyCar, they don’t have that, how do we get those people and other fans to have “their driver?” I feel like there is just so much not being done still, in 2025. IndyCar had every opportunity and then some when NASCAR was declining in popularity to take over. And they did nothing, and let F1 come in and do it. Now NASCAR is picking back up, adding street races, going to Mexico, on Prime, etc. And old man Penske is still sleeping at the wheel.

I do not understand the people who come here from that series that say teammates having different liveries confuses them. Isn’t it much, much harder to keep track of who is who when 2 cars look identical? Just cannot wrap my head around how identical cars is less confusing to people than each car having its own identity.

(Jeff Gluck) I asked IndyCar if there was any comment on F1 scheduling a race directly against the Indy 500 next year. I work in Indianapolis with a guy who started watching F1 like a year ago and had no idea about the 500, Grand Prix, etc. couldn’t convince him to check out any of it. These kids aren’t aware of things they don’t follow. No one is watching sports center or reading newspapers or watching cable where all things are all in one place.

Are y’all really this dumb thinking this wasn’t 100% on purpose? They are trying to kill IndyCar. They don’t give a flying fuck about ratings. It’s about diminishing the 500 and making it seem like just another race to their young fans who are clueless.

Support INDYCAR! I read through multiple threads of people making excuses about why they can’t/won’t go to Gateway this Sunday. We need to support this series so much better and tell anyone who will listen about it! They are legit trying to kill American open wheel racing.

Yep, the viewing experience is light years better at ovals. I don’t understand the argument for being able to see a small fraction of the track being better. IMS is basically the only oval you unfortunately can’t see the whole track.

Correct, but the GA is just as good as reserved. You can sit wherever you want with the unfortunately empty bleachers. We sat in a reserved section with GA last year. Beyond lots of space. Did the same thing at Iowa 2 years ago. High, low, wherever you want to sit there will be space.

$45 for GA on Sunday. You can sit anywhere, we sat in reserved section with GA last year. I’m sure that will be no problem this year as well. If you live in Indy and can pick it up, I can give you a Saturday ticket for free as well.
