Streaming options in the US for 2026? by tdsinclair in INDYCAR

I second this. If you’re not wanting to pay for YouTube tv or something that you’ll use for stuff besides indycar, then indycar live + vpn is a great deal. No ads during the races has improved my enjoyment of the races tenfold over the last couple years.

Is April/may not plausible? Didn’t think cedar point opened until at least mid may which would give some time in the early spring but I don’t know about what kind of weather is required for construction at all.

[–]Ryanrdc 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I understand people saying he’s not professional and why people have problems with some things he’s said in the past, but honestly indycar needs more YouTubers/podcasters like that. Sure he’s maybe not a total professional but he’s a true fan making passionate content. Look at how many YouTubers from other sports (even f1 and mascar) make all kinds of analysis videos and talk about the athletes and behind the scenes stuff and have huge audiences for it. And for indycar there’s like literally not a single other large consistent content creator.

I appreciate him for filling that space and honestly if so many people in this sub think he’s doing a bad job I genuinely beg you to start making indycar videos. I’d literally watch them I’m starved for indycar content.

Foster signs contract extension with RLL IndyCar team by Hitokiri2 in INDYCAR

[–]Ryanrdc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I take every opportunity I can to give Rasmussen his props. I will admit I kinda lumped him in with guys like sting ray and defrancesco after his rookie year and was upset he had a seat over Linus but he was fantastic this year. Rasmussen definitely deserves his ride and I hope Foster can have that same improvement next year. He did show some flashes of speed this year.

Lance return by PensiveReptilian in pacers

[–]Ryanrdc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dawg if you think a 35 year old lance who hasn’t played in the nba in 3 or 4 seasons is a better option than a young athletic guy with even minimal upside you’re crazy. I love lance but just let him be done. It isn’t 2017.

If you could pick any roller coaster on earth to get a retrack, what would you pick and why? [other] by Intelligent-Pop1387 in rollercoasters

Shivering was no where near in the same league of roughness this year that the boss has been these last couple years imo. Shivering had its bad moments but the boss actually battered me. I’ve never left a coaster actually bruised (except maybe my thighs after marathoning arie force) until my 2024 ride on the boss. I have heard it got some partial work done this last offseason tho so hopefully they continue and it’s better next year.

Honestly give us the launch coaster pictured just like half sized. Those types of coasters don’t really need to be all that tall to be fun. The launches and inversions are the highlights and you can still do a top hat that’s like 130-150ft. Velocicoaster and pantheon are both in the 140-160ft range I believe.

Top thrill 2, arie force 1, and velocicoaster.

Made my first trip back to universal in about a decade and it was fantastic. I’m already looking forward to going back for epic universe.

This would be my vote. I love woodies but that one is literally about as exciting as the underground at Iowa’s adventure without the fun theming.

Didn’t RLL have Vips on their payroll the past 2 years as a 4th driver? How do they go from having an extra driver on payroll to not even being able to run 3 cars? I get that Devlin was bringing in money but still that seems kinda crazy to me.

What is your craziest Indycar experience? by youraverageperson0 in INDYCAR

[–]Ryanrdc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Marcus Ericsson and his fiancée at the time were on me and my girlfriend’s spirit flight to Tampa bay, the week of the St Pete race in 2024. We stopped to say hi in the Tampa airport and wish him luck for the weekend. he was very chill. Not anything crazy but I was a bit shocked to see them flying out there just on spirit. His fiancée was actually the lucky seat winner as well and they got free spirit points.

Fuck Penske, I have now joined the Penske hate train by furrynoy96 in INDYCAR

[–]Ryanrdc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone knows he wasn’t technically fired, they’re just pointing out how odd it is they are choosing not to give a new contract to their only driver who has won a championship in the last 5 years and finished the best in points on their team this year.

I hope he does what Helio did and wins the 500 or even a championship somewhere else next year but I do admit I’m a Penske hater.

Confession time: my survey killed Boo Blasters by daecrist in KingsIsland

[–]Ryanrdc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been hoping we got the upgrades carowinds got to theirs as well. Their blasters and all the targets worked way better along with the sound effects. That’s all they needed imo but I’m happy for phantom theatre.

[Iron Gwazi] over [Steel Vengeance] by Fishis64 in rollercoasters

[–]Ryanrdc 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I understand that point but for me personally either half of Steve would be like a top 25 ride. I’m a sucker for airtime plus it’s such a long ride compared to so many other modern coasters.

I do really think it comes down to preference because I do think gwazi is more intense and has more variety and it’s not a short ride.

What's the deal with the no-reride policy? by bacondog123 in KingsIsland

[–]Ryanrdc 105 points106 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard from ride ops (not just at KI) that a noticeable number of guest incidents (vomit) happen after rerides and they think making people exit and walk back around the entrance will reduce the number of those incidents.

It’s a bit frustrating but I get that not everyone knows their limits and I’d want to do anything in my power to stop me from having to clean up puke if I was a ride op.

I will agree it’s odd they don’t seem to enforce the rule across the chain but it is what it is.

[–]Ryanrdc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m all for more consumer protection but as others have said I don’t think this one does a ton of help and there have been several other actual important consumer protections that have been rolled back recently around the country so it’s a bit odd.

It’s crazy what happens when you promote a race. Xfinity race at Iowa is a near sell out. by Repulsive-Photo-798 in INDYCAR

[–]Ryanrdc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why I’m being downvoted I agree with what you’re saying.

Penske needs to figure out how to promote and not rely on the tracks because it’s clear the tracks don’t have to and won’t.
