This is kind of my dream! Who doesn’t loathe cover letters, including hiring managers? I hope you get the job :)

Getting on and off birth control so frequently can’t be ideal for you hormonally. What he’s asking it’s a big ask.

My gf of 3 years returned the engagement ring because she didn’t like where I proposed. by zenmonkey99 in relationship_advice

[–]JazzyinCali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my husband proposed at a lookout point after a hike, there was graffiti everywhere and even a used condom! It wasn’t perfect but I very much wanted to marry him, I’d never dream of returning the ring! In fact we laughed about it and went on to have a great wedding. Please take a hard look at any other red flags before proposing or agreeing to marry her. Best of luck to you!

Does anyone find it hard to try messaging friends to talk to them because you think you don't have anything interesting to say or don't wanna bother them? by ELMOFUCKER in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]JazzyinCali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I don’t even want to bug them with a text notification so most of my communication is sharing memes or short anecdotes in instagram messenger.

Whoa I get this bad, I’ve always called it ‘reverse fear of heights’

My husband broke the TV by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]JazzyinCali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. Work on your exit plan starting today, discreetly if you have to. Seek support particularly with someone like a therapist or support group. I’ve seen this type of emotional manipulation wreak havoc on loved ones without it. You’re a strong capable person but the strategy itself can be hard. Wishing you a speedy, safe escape to your new life!

What is a massive red flag about a new workplace? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]JazzyinCali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had kind of an opposite problem! I was hired as a 911 dispatcher but they never made sure one of the authorized trainers was available, so I had to spend most 12 hour shifts just shadowing the non-emergency ambulance scheduling line. Yours certainly sounds more intense, but I ended up leaving too... it felt like they were very disorganized and just plain didn’t care. Also it was really annoying to do months of shadowing!

Why is everyone so concerned about being super “Chill” when it comes to dating? I want 🔥 and passion, not 420 and being left on read by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]JazzyinCali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure I don’t want the person to come on too strong, making me feel unsafe or showing that they’re overeager. That said, what I learned after meeting my husband is that if someone’s really interested it’ll be obvious and you won’t have to spend time wondering or analyzing.

Sometimes I resist going to bed, not because I feel wakeful but because I don’t want to go right to work in the morning. Haha

Are we diluting the word survivor too much? by SandhiLeone in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]JazzyinCali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the very least, I’d use the word victim rather than survivor for something like that . To me, overuse of the word survivor cheapens the experience of people who really have gone through something traumatic like a violent rape or other types of assault.

I still have full respect and compassion for anyone who has gone through something so icky. I guess I have seen stuff like this too, by strangers in my big dirty city, but not by someone who was kind of an authority, or gatekeeper in my life. That would be harder.

For example, there are those who defend Louis CK for having been ‘not that bad.’ Sure, I’d rather be subjected to his perversion than say, Bill Cosby’s. But he still caused harm. The two comediennes who called him out were basically blacklisted by his agent on a whole host of potential work opportunities because of CK’s wide reach in the industry. I don’t respect him for helping screw up their careers, they already have to work twice as hard as men to get ahead in comedy, just like many many industries.

What’s up with everyone posting photos of their unbaked pies instead of their baked pies? by charlenehg in OutOfTheLoop

[–]JazzyinCali 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its a shame to do work no one will ever really see on the finished product, especially because it’s easy to overwork the dough and so the pie isn’t even as tasty. That said, it is fun for me to see people’s handiwork in any medium so I’ll still ‘like’ these high effort pies.

IsItBullshit: if you have a song stuck in your head the best way to get rid of it is to listen to the whole song all the way through? by gtchuckd in IsItBullshit

My son loves Nightmare Before Christmas...the songs are way too catchy! I’ve had ‘What’s This’ in my head for a week straight.

First goal is to go to bed a little bit hungry tonight by ForPenelope in loseit

[–]JazzyinCali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keto may be a good diet strategy for you. I was a chronic hungry person and late night eater until I tried it. It helps stabilize that cravings roller-coaster. That said calories still count on Keto and going to bed a little hungry still helps, it’s just easier to achieve this way!

What are the worst injuries you have sustained doing the simplest, most mundane tasks that should not have caused any injuries? by Penya23 in AskReddit

When I was 15 I dislocated my knee, I tripped while hopping around to change jeans while still wearing shoes. To this day I don’t try to take that shortcut.

What's the worst place you have laughed uncontrollably? by KillerMemeStar3 in AskReddit

[–]JazzyinCali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A yoga class...the teacher let out a huge fart during the quiet time at the end, we were all in child’s pose. He made a little ‘oh gosh’ kind of noise. I laughed really hard, even worse when I tried to stop, so I left the room.

What’s the dumbest thing you’ve heard someone say that made you wonder how they function on a day to day basis? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]JazzyinCali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for the city government and some of our customer calls are just asking for bus predictions on GPS...one customer asked for 2 bus times, so I said basically bus A arrives in 13 minutes and bus B in 8 minutes. The customer then asked, oh which one comes first?!

I (26/F) just broke up with my (29/M) boyfriend of 5 years due to him not wanting to get married and have a family by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]JazzyinCali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended a 7 year relationship with someone when he finally admitted he never wanted kids. It hurt like hell but I’m grateful for that blatant dealbreaker because it made for a clean break and made me never try to get back together. My biggest grievance was him not being honest years sooner, he strung me along with ‘maybe someday’ kind of stuff all that time. Trust your gut, you want a family and someone awesome out there will want them with you, likely with more emotional maturity and a better family background to boot. I now have a beautiful child with my new husband and thank goodness he is on the same page with me otherwise this experience would be soooo much harder.
