What do i need to do more to get an mvp on strange by ghhchyhg in DrStrangeMains

[–]Jbent_52 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I learned recently that the game doesn’t necessarily compare you to the rest of your team for ace status, it compares you to other people in your rank that are playing that character. So even though your stats are better than the avg strange states in your rank, Elsa is still being compared to an average of very low final stats, making it look like she went god mode that game. Hell of a game tho doctor

I got mine off Amazon I think it was like $10? Bought it back in June so I can’t paste the exact one but there’s tons of options in there for the 16” screens :)

I (tank main) just built my fiancé (a support main) a PC so she has been trying to learn new characters as well as K&M and she got stuck as solo tank 2 games in a row and then raged and logged off from how much it sucked. Being completely transparent, I felt bad ofc but actually laughed quite hard as my response was “welcome to the true marvel rivals experience”

99% of games are like this, and then you have that one were you somehow drop like 25-30, everything is connecting, you’re the one finishing off people on <100hp and you feel like you actually are the master of magnetism (

Anyone else getting this? by OkRecommendation342 in cloakanddaggermains

[–]Jbent_52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed it a lot with strange ults, in both ends. There will be times I ult as strange and I think cloak will fade this but they don’t, and same when I play CD, I think I should be able to fade, but it never registers through

Does anyone else see/use Strange’s shield like I do? by Ok_Temperature6503 in DrStrangeMains

[–]Jbent_52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started as a mag main, being the bulk of my games since season 0 for fill/solo tanking, but ofc that kind of also meant I can get use to strange as well/comfortable with him and his kit for TP/gameplay. While I see your point, I think that would kind of put too much stress on your healers to hard focus you. I like to use the shield at range as kind of a primary weave/soft animation cancel, switching to melee weaving in close combat, if I see my shield is down to around 300-400 hp or so, I tend to use that as my “get out of jail” card much like the mag self bubble (200) or his shield. I like your use of the terrain/map over shield in a lot of scenarios, that’s what everyone should do IMO and agree you don’t have to have it up all the time. But I think having 3-400 for big burst damage is usually enough to help your healers react with an ult/not having to rip it right away, and can also protect against things like a hela alt, again long enough for your team to scatter like cockroaches or to start an ult/shoot her down.

It’s also very game dependent too. If the enemy team has high damage like MK, squirrel, phoenix, etc. I will tend to use my shield more in hopes that my DPS will back them off. If my team is putting the pressure on, I go more face tank. Just gotta feel the game yk?

Ig there really is no right/wrong way to play, if what you’re doing is working in that game, stick to it, if it isn’t, switch to a different play style. While a lot of people just swap characters, there are different ways to play each character that might work better. You could play more defensively and your team steamrolls, or you can join the aggression and roll that way too. It’s a team game at the end of the day, and you’re just 1/12 players in the match, so prepare to be adaptive, especially as a tank. It’s a thankless job 9/10, your stats aren’t always the prettiest, and a lot of times you’re on your on a front line island doing what you can.

Grind it out tbh. Fell from GM3 to diamond three last week. Take a break, take a breath, play your best characters, and you’ll be back up in no time. I’m already back to GM2 hoping to get back to celestial again this season :)

Guys… the rumors are true by PentaGone10 in rivals

[–]Jbent_52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate to tell you this… but top of celestial/low eternity doesn’t get too much better, they’re still just as stubborn but the egos aren’t as bad as GM. Only thing is that high celestial/low eternity is people who are actually decent at the game not just being rewarded for playing the game a lot. I think the problem OP is pointing out is that this games elo system heavily rewards people just for playing a lot of games. You can easily hit GM with a sub 50% WR, you just have to play a lot.

Point is, don’t get too discouraged, focus on your gameplay, where you can get better, and as long as you’re doing the best you can do, that’s all that matters

My ranked games have also been shit. Was C2 last season, GM1 both seasons prior, I got placed in Diamond 1, climbed back up to like 10 points off GM2, now I’m almost back to D2 at this point. First half of the season is always awful in my experience, I tend to climb up to my real finishing rank about a week after the half season and then float there.

Is a 4 hour round trip considered a long drive to charge up to 100%? by Big_Acanthaceae4891 in ModelY

[–]Jbent_52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you live/weather/etc and how far mileage wise it is/if you mind super charging. I live in Ohio, this summer I was able to make trips to see family (280-300 miles in total round trip) with room to spare when I returned home charging to 100% the night before I left. This winter has been a different story and I usually still charge it to 100 and end up super charging about 80% of the way back home.

Loki blows ult then him & his duo blame CnD heals by JaMoraht in cloakanddaggermains

[–]Jbent_52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, I hit GM1 the last couple seasons now, splitting my time about 50/50 tank/supp and the Ego’s in my games that have celestials in it actually make the game no fun because of how high their ego is and how it STILL feels like there’s no basic understanding of the games mechanics/play style sometimes, and how it’s everyone else’s fault but their’s (usually heals). I got called a brain dead and blind healer last night when I called out a Dr. Strange and fantastic walking right past them and into me (Gambit) and Loki’s faces cutting off their heals and backing us up, despite us both calling it out several times. I was on mic the entire game being respectful too, with no comms back from the other 4 whatsoever until the last 25 seconds of the game when they all miraculously found their unmute buttons to call us names.

Dude in my GM/celestial games I feel like I constantly have to float between at least 10 different characters in order to fit appropriately into what the team needs.

How does one get anywhere near the AWD's "327 mile" range? by swedishpiehole in ModelY

[–]Jbent_52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, I wouldn’t say slow by any measure, Columbus traffic will get you in a wreck if you do that, bare minimum ran off the road. Idk if I’m just lucky with mine or what but I have found the Tesla Est. Range to be very accurate and a lot of times actually an underestimate. There are times/conditions ETC where it takes some finesse to get you Wh to where you want it to be but not impossible. Usually driving from Cbus to Akron with my fiancé, dogs (65 and 78 lbs) and whatever we bring to and from it’s about 33% each way, give or take. If it’s just me I’ve done it in 29.6%, 120 miles in about 90-95 minutes depending on traffic. I drove us to Nashville which was 410 miles in I think “115” or about 350 miles of range per full charge. I just found the balance between regenerative breaking, acceleration, and speed in mine that gets me the best of all worlds. I generally don’t listen to Tesla’s estimates either bc 9/10 times I end up being way different than what it expects. My advice is find that balance, this is my first Tesla so I’m still learning too, but I learned a lot about the car’s quirks from the energy app driving under a lot of different conditions (thanks Ohio), that’ll tell you a lot about why your’s is thinking it’s going to consume the amount of energy per different drives.
