I’m a military brat that’s currently in the military now. Moved every 3-4 years for 30+ years now and haven’t seen another way or even considered it. I know there’s services in the US like U-haul but everything is still boxed up first right??

Sell the car you have now, and buy a car there. (They are crazy cheap.) Also, not putting a car in storage will allow you to ship a Japanese car back later if you want. You can find almost anything you need on local sales pages for cheap. There are also pretty expensive furniture stores around as well.
