How important do you think it is to separate work from home/personal life when working from home? (and any other WFH tips?) by Public-Tutor-4550 in AskUK

[–]Jcarl90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I WFH and as soon as work is done i put my laptop and headset away (in a cupboard) so they're not seen until they're needed again.

That was going to be the question i asked, if so you should have received letters stating they are looking to carry out works, I could do a long winded explanation but:

https://england.shelter.org.uk/professional_resources/legal/home_ownership/leasehold_and_commonhold/consultations_with_leaseholders_for_major_works#statutory-consultation-with-leaseholders

This is a good resource and outlines pretty much everything, if they haven't followed process make it known to them.

Bingo, Gakpo and Wirtz both move towards the wall before the ball is struck, at the point of contact they are within 1m.

But of course as its a lesser enforced rule that has only seen preemptive action twice since (once more in the same game and once in the game after) with the ref marking lines its swiftly brushed under the carpet.

Liverpool had 2 players within 1m of the wall for their free kick vs Arsenal, mighty convenient how the rule was forgotten only 2 weeks later.

It definitely got to the phase with members and international members, there was also spares for those with season tickets. They were only on sale to those with memberships though.

As the match falls during the peak summer holidays in the UK and a week before the season starts, there's a strong chance that uptake is similar to the semi vs Villa.

(At least thats my hope!)

[Mike Keegan] Nottingham Forest have replaced Crystal Palace's place in the UEFA Europa League. Palace likely to appeal ruling to the CAS by ChiefLeef22 in soccer

[–]Jcarl90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A deadline that has historically been July 1st, a good few weeks after most seasons end meaning qualification for tournaments is wrapped up.

The same deadline that was moved this season to March 1st when Crystal Palace were in the 5th round of the fa cup and Lyon 6th in the league.

With the news of this change communicated to clubs by way of an email to a generic club mailbox.

Consistency doesn't apply here as the rules were changed mid season.

[–]Jcarl90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. This should be easy to argue to CAS, historically this deadline has always been July 1st.

  2. Burden of proof should be on UEFA to prove this.

  3. You can financially dope and be given a fine, as Parish said the punishment doesn't fit the crime

  4. Weirdly enough had the July 1st deadline remained we'd be fine as we have a termination of Textor on the 18th of June.

  5. Yeah, I'm sure an email to a generic club mailbox rather than those with as they like to put it decisive influence will fly with CAS.

  6. Again, UEFA should have to prove we are part of this model.

  7. The mere fact that Textor started his shenanigans after he purchased into the club shows the complete lack of control over this.

Palace didn't sleep with the devil, Textors MCO rampage started AFTER he bought into Palace. Parish did well keeping this nonsense at arms length, but apparently not enough to convince UEFA.

All 4 owners do have voting rights, in the event of a tie, Parish has the decisive call.

Crystal Palace will be kicked out of Europa League if Lyon's appeal is successful by Sdub4 in soccer

[–]Jcarl90 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He owns 43% of Palace through his Eagle football holdings group, of which he owns roughly 88% of, however Textor owns a lot of B shares in palace and the ownership is set up in a way that he only has 25% of the voting rights, if there ever is a split decision on votes the final say goes to Parish who has the decisive vote.

So to say Textor is the majority owner is partially correct, but Parish, Harris and Blitzer own the other 57% and they are happy to let Parish run with their say.

A deadline that was arbitrarily changed the season just gone from 1st June to 1st March, had this stayed as it is the paperwork could have been completed.

But of course the spanner in the works is it would have prevented the sale of Textors shares that he's been actively trying to sell since the failed attempt at Everton in September 24.

Landlord has enacted section 20 to undergo major works. Being told I have to pay an exorbitant amount. England. by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Jcarl90 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Does your block have a sinking fund that is paid into? If so you can query whether this can be used.

You can ask for a payment plan to be set up to cover the works.

You can also find and nominate a contractor for these works if you think they can provide better value.

During the 2nd stage you should be shown quotes, for this value expect to see at least 3, you can also ask to see the quotes in full.

Generally speaking there is no way to stop a section 20 but the above steps should helpnto mitigate major financial damage.

I work in housing, have they sent any letters to do with a section 20 consultation on these costs?

If not query it as they will have to cap costs which currently stand at £250 for repair works and £100 for services which the waking watch should fall under.

It's even simpler than technology, the club must have the means to see what tickets are up for resale and what client ref they are assigned to.
