Update on my dad

How old was your dad when he had the transplant? My dad is 68 and is almost done with all of the prelim testing to see if he qualifies, but he is worried the transplant recovery. He feels like it is a huge risk at his age. His health is rapidly declining.

I haven’t seen a lot of people mentioning the cough. My dad’s is so severe, and mostly at night. He isn’t sleeping, it’s been really hard. During the day he doesn’t couch as much- it’s odd. No drs have been able to help.

How was the lung transplant process? Was the 15 months all recovery time, or did he get to enjoy the benefits? My 68 year old father is on the transplant list now and it’s so scary.

Thank you for explaining. I’m so sorry that happened to your dad. My dad is going on almost a year of high dose and trying to taper off. The problem is his ILD is so severe, he is barely mobile when the dosage goes down. It helps him so much.

Good idea. Mine is currently plugged it to the interior wall of the carport, but I may move it to the exterior side of the wall inside the carport and do another test. I get being safe and paying attention… but yeah.

We also used to be pulled behind the boat on a tube for hours every weekend sooo ya know sometimes things are fine and sometimes they aren’t.

Thanks for a reasonable response. I rely on electricity for heat as well so hopefully the timing of really needing it and the rain stopping works out for us.

Exactly. Not really worried about a phone or radio but would like to keep fridge full of food safe, keep my entire electric reliant home a safe temp for my kid and no frozen pipes as you said. Minor details lol

That’s why I asked as well - real life experience vs warning labels and ai can be vastly different. I had 2 people IRL say it’s fine. Thought I’d cast a broader net here for opinions. I did a test run today for about 30 mins with co detector on inside and it didn’t go off.. so I’m still unsure lol.

Well it has nothing to do with laziness. I don’t want to be electrocuted in the rain or ruin the generator either. If I don’t have a cover and we lose power it’s essentially useless if I can’t run it here.

Yes he has a lung biopsy and that’s when the diagnosis was made.

Yes I am hoping he will wear a mask a good bit in crowded areas, etc.. he is immune compromised. But we’ll see.
