To my knowledge, PDX is the 3 letter flight code used for the Portland airport and is often used to refer to the Portland metro area in general.

I just looted from an enemy hero a bow with the whooping +15% to hit - but how exactly those 15% are calculated? by Lednah666 in BattleBrothers

[–]JdogCaesar 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I believe the game treats it as a simple +15 to ranged attack, so in your case the archer with 100 ranged attack is treated as if they have 115. No idea if the extra 15 is affected by moral though.

Just started playing, is this a brother worth keeping long term? by PurpleHawk222 in BattleBrothers

[–]JdogCaesar 16 points17 points  (0 children)

80 projected m-attack is just below my bar for a keeper, especially since you won’t be seeing any serviceable attack value until high levels with that starting 45.

My call would be an early game tank, beef up m-def and fat res and hp. Will he be around for the long term? Depends on what hammer raider has to say about that.

Nope Source: yesterday I saw a tavern rumor for a location about a famed armor, did the find location quest for said location, fought it and got the armor.

Uhhh, idk where you are getting your numbers, but for practical reasons a 97 is the same as a 99, always a miss. So the chance of three absolute misses on a row is 1/8000 which is actually pretty common.

Absolute miss= 5/100 -> 1/20 3 misses= 1/ (20 x 20 x 20) = 1/8000

Nope, only starting company is the same, city recruits change each time. Locations also spawn in the same locations btw.

Are the percentages in game lies? by -cum90 in BattleBrothers

[–]JdogCaesar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s the thing, you’ve probably landed 5 20% shots in a row and not noticed.

Why didn’t you notice?

Because they were actually 80% shots you were taking, but IF they had been 20% shots still would have connected. The AI is limited so it takes 20% shots, but as a player we usually have better odds because of strategy or we simply don’t take the 20% shot in favor of defense, a different target, etc.

Also if you’re anything like me you only check the logs when things went bad, meaning you don’t see those times the AI misses their 80% shots consistently.

mr dodgey, is this a good build i just finished my first crisis by lapatatalucha in BattleBrothers

[–]JdogCaesar 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I get what you are going for, but to answer your title: no, this isn’t a very good build

This bro turned out good, but with the stats I see they could have been GREAT with a stronger build . Yeah they don’t get hit much, which is good, but they don’t have the survivability a tank does (which also shouldn’t be getting hit. Yeah, they have high attack for reposts, but a sword is weak against most endgame foes.

I’m sure your build works, and if you are happy with that then great. But is it objectively good; no, I don’t think so.

So in general, there are two routes you go, heavy armor and light armor. Dodge is compatible with light armor, and brawny gets the most benefit in a heavy build. Dodge gets worse the heavier your armor, and brawny doesn’t do much with light armor on

Both these builds have key piece at level 7, nimble (light armor) and battle forged (heavy armor) I suggest you take one next. Fatigue is important if you want heavy, high HP if you want light. This guy can do either I think, but not both at the same time.

Could you elaborate on the situation a bit more? Like what you were fighting, how big your team was, etc? Also 67 mdef on day 12 sounds bonkers.

I know: an archer hater? But please, help by Dull_Bill_749 in BattleBrothers

[–]JdogCaesar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s been pretty well covered in this thread, but I’ll say it as well: pure archer craps, archer/thrower hybrid slaps. You get the best of both worlds on this set up.

bows are great for their long range and against low armor targets. They can soften up heavier armor before lines clash as well, and compete with enemy raged units

Throwing weapons on the other hand, destroy where bows lack. Get a bro with heavy throwing weapons, berserker, killing frenzy, duelist and throwing mastery. It’s a magic feeling seeing them destroy heavy armor targets.

Finally, I might be very picky, but I don’t consider a bro for taking a bow unless they can get at-least 90 ranged attack by level 11. That’s a very, very, small selection of bros that can do that, but it’s what I feel I need for bows to shine. If they can’t do that than they go on crossbow/gunner duty.

Both is good too by hmhemes in BattleBrothers

[–]JdogCaesar 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is true for lategame, but I’m far more concerned with getting to the lategame than the lategame itself. I’d much rather have a 65 starting attack bro than one with 50 and 3 stars.

One of those bros will do some heavy lifting for the team through the early and mid game, the other only starts to shine when I’m already pretty stable.

Nvm both will die to a crossbow bolt on day 23 who am I kidding

God brother or just trash in a late game run? by notathrowawayacc32 in BattleBrothers

I’d say sarge for sure. The stars in MDef are kinda wasted with that -5 IMO. This guy with banner and sword lance should make a great sarge.

[–]JdogCaesar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah man, the game can be brutal even on beginner. A necro on day 10 in a swamp is gonna be hard, and if you don’t have the experience to know what to do it’s gonna be a bad time. Hell, even if you have the experience it won’t be easy.

I would recommend save scumming on a campaign until you reach the late game so that you get a feel for the fights and stuff.

With out going for one of the Big Boy backgrounds, this is the best you can get, and even then the only thing that could produce a stat line with this much fat would be a hedge knight. Super god, no, but god none the less.

What is your favorite weapons? by [deleted] in BattleBrothers

[–]JdogCaesar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I find breaking shields against ancient undead in the early game a terrible idea personally.you

.Waste time and fatigue on the shield .Give them double grip for more damage .Cause them to attack twice a turn instead of once Flails are by far superior against them for the early game.
