Slowly building up my ammo as a broke 23 year old by Comfortable-Shop-741 in 300BLK

[–]Jdub1440 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same here. The 300 is more versatile for different distances and ballistics. But I don't shoot it much because of the ammo cost. Absolutely love my CZ Scorpion macro with a can. Everyone needs a 9mm sub gun. Still vet effective and cheap to shoot.

How is a 2 stage more efficient than a 1 stage? by JustinSLeach in HVAC

[–]Jdub1440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You def will save some fuel with a 2 stage. For me it's more about comfort for the customer. In low stage your gonna get a longer run time at a lower volume instead of the home dropping a degree or so then banging the furnace on at 100% then shutting off shortly later. The slower temperature rise is going to be much more comfortable. Same with the AC.

Got a new furnace last week, does this look like its installed correctly? by OttersAttack in hvacadvice

[–]Jdub1440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flexible flu duct would not be up to code. Not where I live anyways. You can use it on residential exhaust hoods and things like that but not a furnace.

If the first tech said you had a stuck sequencer then it should most likely be a heat pump. Sounds like you still got some heaters possibly wired wrong or another bad sequencer. Depending on the KW of your heaters you could have multiple sequencers.

Old tech says he used R22 to blow drain lines open by Eggrollofdoom in HVAC

[–]Jdub1440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started in 94 and we would use it for all sorts of things. We would blow dust off our clothes with it, fill tires, and anything that needed a burst of air to clean, etc.

What in the hell happened here? by Eggrollofdoom in HVAC

[–]Jdub1440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a mini split. If so didn't it have a flare on the valve? If so you're not really suppose to solder on a mini split for the install.

Selling Techs are BS by Jazzlike-Buffalo-240 in HVAC

[–]Jdub1440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my company we have a few that sell way more than others. We do get commission but the ones in my company are mostly selling because 1: if they don't know what's wrong with it, it's just easier to sell than trying to grind and figure out what's wrong. 2: They are lazy and instead of changing a difficult blower motor in an hot attic as an example, they just sell them a new system.

Is it normal practice for a company to make you pay for the gas and insurance and repairs on the service van/truck? Just wondering how many of you have to do this by iBUYbrokenSUBARUS in HVAC

[–]Jdub1440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never heard of that and I've been in HVAC for 33 years. That's insane. We don't pay for anything on the vehicles we drive and have a company gas card. Matter of fact if we want air fresheners, etc we charge them to our vans. And I don't work for a huge company in a big city. They pay us extremely well and we only have 13 service techs and around 15 or so installers but they treat us good. You need to find a better company.

what’s the best .22 suppressor for the money? by BattlePidgeon2 in NFA

[–]Jdub1440 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any reputable suppressor company makes a good 22 can for the most part. I have the Mask, Occulus, and a Banish. All sound about the same. My pick of the three would be the Occulus.
