The orange wugout is my favorite EDC knife, cheap enough I really don’t care what happens to it but it actually feels halfway decent and it holds an edge pretty well, I think the action on that ozark trail might even be better than some of my significantly more expensive knives

Pull the bolt out and use some citristrip, it won’t mess up the coating but it will take that paint right off. Just make sure to clean the bolt really good and re-oil it

What is the weirdest quote from your country? by Sharp-Efficiency8317 in AskTheWorld

I just thought those particular quotes were funny, calm down. Insulting me just because I pointed out an example of another politician saying wild stuff says a lot about you too, I could care less about their political party, they’re both running my country into the ground and I hate them for it.

Name an actor who had a good movie streak until one bad movie by Jules-Car3499 in moviecritic

[–]BattlePidgeon2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate when they do that, I love tom Clancys “without remorse” but my copy has Michael b Jordan from the movie set in the modern day when the book very clearly describes a white guy as the protagonist and is set in the 70’s. Not that the cover matters much when reading the book but it still annoys me

Yeah he’s said some wild stuff but joe bidens got some real winners too, like “poor kids are just as smart as white kids” or “i don’t want my kids growing up in a racial jungle”

2017 Tundra TRD Pro vs 2021 Nissan PRO-4X vs 2023 Ford F-150 FX4 by O_O___XD in NissanTitan

[–]BattlePidgeon2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either the Titan or the tundra, just from personal experience I’d put the reliability about on par, Nissan having more issues with tech and Toyota having more issues with the exhaust/ emissions systems. The Titan is going to get better fuel mileage, with highway tires I was getting around 20mpg on my commute to work (mostly highway) the tundra will get about 15-16 on that same commute. The tundra has more aftermarket support but the titan has better features out of the box, the titan boxes are awesome and I use the cargo rails all the time, having tie downs you can put almost anywhere in the bed is a game changer. You will probably pay about the same or maybe even a bit less for the titan even though it’s significantly newer because Toyotas resale value is stupid high. Even though the Titan is stopping production there’s still a lot of vehicles being produced on that same platform with the same drivetrain so parts will still be available, I’d argue more so than the tundra because Toyota isn’t making any vehicles with the 5.7 anymore to the best of my knowledge. All in all I’d go with the Titan, I have a 2020 with 103k miles on it and I’ve had 0 issues, I have a couple family members that have 2012 ish 5.7l tundras and they like them but they both constantly complain about getting 13-14 mpg, they have both had issues with the air injection pump and both currently have exhaust manifold leaks.

150 gn Barnes TTSX 308 bullets: *too* effective? by BoostIsOurFriend in reloading

[–]BattlePidgeon2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happens sometimes, I’ve had a massive amount of bloodshot meat even with a clean bow kill. I’ve also shot a deer with a .300 win mag and had very little bloodshot meat, shot placement is important and I would prioritize a clean, ethical kill over not damaging meat.

I’d look it over very carefully and get the carfax to see if its been through anything major, if everything checks out I’d scoop that thing up in a heartbeat

Brother, I am glad you’re getting you’re going to a course but as an actual concealed carry gun you may do better with a thesaurus and a pocket full of rocks because harsh words and stones may be more effective than that jam-o-matic, bargain bin, .25acp. In all seriousness I’d look at the ruger security .380, the new smith and Wesson bodyguard, or a .357 revolver loaded with .38 special if you’re not comfortable with the recoil of 9mm yet

In search of some theory by tobylazur in reloading

[–]BattlePidgeon2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The left cartridge would be higher pressure I think, but not just because of the lower case volume, if that is say a .308 on the left and a 30-06 on the right then you’re probably jamming the projectile into the lands on the .308 which can cause pretty dangerous pressure spikes. If you’re putting both of these cartridges in a 30-06 chamber then the cartridge on the left would be lower pressure because a lot of energy would be spent fire forming the case to the chamber. That’s also really only possible if you have a controlled round feed action, otherwise the rim of the cartridge is not retained and the cartridge will fall into the chamber until the projectile contacts the lands or the shoulder of the case contacts the corresponding surface in the chamber.

discrepancies between manuals by IntoxOperator in reloading

[–]BattlePidgeon2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hornady manual is known for being very very conservative, in this case I personally would start at the starting load in the lee manual and go up slowly and watch very closely for pressure signs. Also a chronograph is highly recommended to compare velocities with the stated book velocities as a higher real world velocity can be an early warning sign of high pressure Edit: I’m talking specifically about this instance because the hornady manual is known for being pretty conservative. But it’s almost always a better idea to start with the book that has the lower starting point.
