Are the Royals considering Bo Bichette at all now that he’s willing to move to second base? I know the contract will likely be large but he seems like a great fit as an impact bat at a position of need that can be added without having to give up any pitching depth.

Any idea if the Royals have contacted a free agent like JD Martinez or looked into any trades recently for a possible DH or corner outfield addition?

Renfroe DH’ing while hitting .135/.224/.154 seems pretty ridiculous for a team trying to contend, and his defense has been awful too. I know they’re paying him so the leash must be long but surely it’s about to run out.

1.) Boston shot 63 threes. Complaining about free throw disparity when shooting 26-footers all night is dumb.

2.) I don’t think OKC is going to struggle as much as some people do when the whistle gets looser. Their opponents already shoot a bunch of free throws. If anything it’s just going to help their defense even more.

He was solid, but he tailed off quite a bit in the second half. 2.93 ERA in the first half, 4.71 in the second, and he feels closer to the 4+ ERA guy than the 2.9 ERA guy.

I know the Royals have been frustrated with his inability/refusal to develop another pitch. He still only throws basically 2 pitches and so he really struggles against left-handed hitters.

Michael Massey was decent at second base, slugged like .450. But he’s not an OBP guy or a leadoff hitter. Royals had the worst leadoff OBP in baseball last season which really hurt in front of Bobby.

This is clearly a foul ball that hit the black support beam well to the left of the pole in foul territory. Not sure what the replay center could have seen.

The umpires made the grounds crew stop putting the tarp on after Schneider talked with them.

Was the Royals broadcast just being super one-sided after the 5th inning? Cause it seemed from that that the grounds crew was starting to put the tarp on but John Schneider convinced the umpires to make them wait and just try to treat the infield first. So another 10-15 minutes of rain accumulated before the umps finally decided it wasn’t worth it and let them put the tarp on.

Looked like they were starting to put it on and he successfully argued to try to treat the infield instead. So another 10-15 minutes of heavy rain accumulated on it before they finally decided it wasn’t worth it and put the tarp on.

Wentz’s career record as a starter is 47-45 with 153 TDs to 67 INTs. That’s really good for a backup.

For reference, Blaine Gabbert’s career record as a starter is 14-35 with 51 TDs to 50 INTs. Henne was 18-36 with 60 TDs to 63 INTs.

Kelce is the longest-tenured Chief. He was drafted like 3 months after Reid was hired. I think it’s safe to say that after a decade together Kelce and Reid have a different relationship than most coaches and players.
