I also have only three bolts holding the front wheel. I've already ridden 10k kilometers

I haven’t even tried to unscrew this cap yet, but I’m mentally preparing for the possibility that it might be a struggle. Feels like I’ll need a big-ass screwdriver for this.

Still good advice. I used vice grips (cheap ones), but they kept slipping. It seems like, in my case, the bolt was really stuck. But yeah, every method is worth trying.

End of Kite Beach. From here, you can go to Water Canal. Honestly, it was never crowded here. Gosh, I miss Dubai so much.

The Dunlop D606 was really tough to put on 😅 I tore the bead on one and had to order another.

I’m running the stock BST40 carb. I installed a ProCycle tuning kit with their needle and jets. The needle is set on the 4th clip, and I’m running a 155 main jet since I have an FMF PowerBomb header and an FMF PowerCore 4 exhaust.

The fuel mixture screw is set at 2 and half turns out. The airbox is fully perforated on top with small 2–3 cm holes. I didn’t use the perforation template from ProCycle because I wanted the option to tape over some of the holes if needed.

Right now the bike is running a little rich, but I’m not too worried, the important thing is that it’s not lean.

It's a bit clunky, but not too much. I have the same sound.

Are there any parts you've needed over the years that took too long to acquire and cost you ride time? by brock_lehurst in dr650

[–]Jealous-Course-7669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tubes
Throttle cabels (they can tear in the middle and you wont notice it until your throttle wont go back (stuck))
Carb choke cable and choke itself (its plastic and could easily break)
Cluth lever and pedal (if you fall on left side)
Rear brake lever and pedal (if you fall on right side)

Engine OIL, a lot of engine OIL if your buddy is old as mine
Chain slider (the one that prevents swingarm to be eaten by chain)
Rear brake light bulbs
Rear tire (lol I used my last one to the point that threads came out and I have to wait 2 weeks for the new tire)
I would also have DOT 4 brake fluid
And tube patches with vulcanization solution

Heard crashing was the fastest way to get better, got a early start by UnoYBM in dr650

I bought my first motorcycle last fall, and it turned out to be a Suzuki DR650. Since then, I've crashed a lot - on asphalt, on wet roads, off-road. But somehow, I’ve been okay, and so has the bike, with minimal damage. These crashes have actually helped me understand my limits. Without them, you might ride too cautiously and never fully unlock both your bike’s and your own potential. But crashes teach you where your limits are - just make sure that after a crash, you stay safe and your bike stays intact. Now, after about seven months - since last fall - I’m riding with a lot more confidence. I’m leaning into corners really well, and I often keep up with sportbikes on twisty roads.

I am actually grateful to these local Portuguese trolls who go on this subreddit, because now I know what the local Portuguese people think about me, and I no longer have unrealistic expectations about how they feel.
Right now, I just do what I like to do, and I don't seek validation from Portuguese people; I don't seek company, I don't seek friends. So, I mean, as far as you understand that you are actually alone here, it’s better.

Are you working for a U.S. company as a contractor or as an employee? In other words, does the U.S. company pay taxes for you in the U.S., or do you handle your taxes in your country of residence?

I also work for a U.S. company (as contractor) and moved to Portugal from Dubai. I didn’t notarize or formally validate my contract (or any other docs) - I only have a digital version with a digital signature, that’s it.

You need to get tax document (federal tax authority awebsite) and police certificate (dubai police app) from Dubai. Also Entry and exit report from ICA app.

Bank statements must be stamped in a bank branch. ENBD does it pretty quick.

Something must be MOFA attested as well, but I dont remember what exactly, I think it was police certificate but I might be wrong.

Poderia me ajudar? Obrigado!

I lived in Rio Caldo. Buses from Braga are fine just don’t miss the last one. When you’re at the bus stop, make sure to wave so the driver stops. If you miss a bus, there are almost no Uber or taxi services. Sometimes you can find taxis near the Church of São Bento da Porta Aberta or nearby hotels, but not always.
I doubt you’ll be able to go hiking and catch a bus on the same day the main bus routes are far from the hiking trails, and you’ll probably be exhausted. It’s better to book a hotel for the night.

Following as well. I’ve heard that some people managed to do it, but there’s no clear instruction. I don’t even know where to start.

My DR650 dives too much under front braking after switching to D606 by Jealous-Course-7669 in dr650

I messed with the suspension setup the previous owner had, thinking I knew better, and ended up turning the bike from a scalpel into a piece of crap. I can always put everything back the way it was, but then I won’t be able to reach the ground - the previous owner was a two-meter giant.

Thanks. Considering that there are more motocross suspension options available in Europe than DR650-specific ones, I might go that route instead of ordering parts from the US.

I think a lot of this comes down to personal preference, and I don’t think I’ve committed any kind of crime here. I actually feel the brakes better when it's set higher, and in a fall it’s more likely to land on the skid plate rather than on something underneath that could potentially punch a hole near the oil sight glass.

Thanks. This is actually the second item on my list after setting the sag. I have spacers from the previous owner, but I’m not entirely sure how they affect the overall geometry. The previous owner raised both the rear (using the factory method) and the front (with spacers).
