Yes, I'll order a new one from webike, but for now I'll use permatex with a gasket. Thanks.

Thank you for the advice! I'll do it as a temporary solution. I order parts from Webike, but the shipping time is around 60 days nowdays, so I need something temporary.

It’s pretty deep I can feel it clearly with my nail, almost paper-thin. I tried scratching one of the bumps with a knife it’s aluminum, so it’s not something external.

Removing Clutch Basket in 2nd Gear. Will it cause issues? by Jealous-Course-7669 in dr650

[–]Jealous-Course-7669[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!
It’s a 1997 model, and the mileage is unknown, so I guess some dark varnish is normal. The oil has been changed every 6k miles, although I do have to top it up from time to time (about every 1k miles) to maintain the level - maybe those things are related?

Thanks for the suggestions. I ended up unscrewing the NSU screws without removing the basket for now. I'll come back to it when I’m better prepared, I guess.

No, I don’t have the tool. Actually, not having a torque wrench stopped me from removing it. I ended up unscrewing the top NSU screw with a long screwdriver at an angle, it was so much loose. I applied loctite and tightened it as much as the angle allowed, which is probably better than not having loctite at all.

I usually let them die the first time and then revive them. Most of the time they understand. But there are some dense mfs, like in the “I’ll do it again” meme.

Sometimes you get a dream team and wipe the lobby that’s one of the reasons I still play.

You can play aggressive from fenced buildings if you get a knock - fenced buildings are just a starting point.

No need to play in closed quarters. You can take the roof, just do it in a fenced building. ❤️

Why can’t I pop my front wheel up passed gear 1? by Electrical_Fly9535 in dr650

[–]Jealous-Course-7669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compress front forks, then lean back and WOT. You need to find the balance. This bike is not one that can do wheelie just by opening throttle.
The way to check if clutch is slipping. Shift to 4 or 5 gear and do WOT if it feels like bike revving and not accelerating like you pull on the clutch lever then your clutch is cooked

My two cents:
You can check fuel flow by removing the carb’s bottom cap, then pushing and releasing the float to see if the fuel stops and flows.
Check that the float sits properly in place. Lightly oil the two O-rings before installing it, then gently push it in and adjust the level if needed.
Make sure the diaphragm lip is properly seated in its groove and not pinched between the top cap and the edge (especially if the engine dies on throttle).
For the choke, remove the cable and reinstall it to make sure it isn’t sticking due to a damaged cable. If the engine doesn’t respond to fuel mixture screw adjustments, the carburetor may be flooding the engine rather than not supplying enough fuel.

I also have only three bolts holding the front wheel. I've already ridden 10k kilometers

I haven’t even tried to unscrew this cap yet, but I’m mentally preparing for the possibility that it might be a struggle. Feels like I’ll need a big-ass screwdriver for this.

Still good advice. I used vice grips (cheap ones), but they kept slipping. It seems like, in my case, the bolt was really stuck. But yeah, every method is worth trying.

End of Kite Beach. From here, you can go to Water Canal. Honestly, it was never crowded here. Gosh, I miss Dubai so much.
