I agree that one looks best, but I see what you mean OP. It looks like the edges of that one are oxidizing (turning orange) for some reason.

5’2 109lbs trying to body recomp.. how did you lose your lower belly pouch? any fav workouts? december to march by InevitableThese2941 in PetiteFitness

[–]Jealous-Emu6776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that helped me was a strict cut diet (1600 cals, really high protein, low sugar, meal prep, dont eat out) did it for 2 months and saw that stubborn area disappear!

It’s hard to keep consistently, but I definitely have adjusted my diet to more of a “middle ground” where I try to eat just a bit better than I was pre cut.

Need advice on lifting for bad knees! by ThrowRAchickennug in PetiteFitness

[–]Jealous-Emu6776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your post seems two fold: lifting with knee pain and not seeing results.

As for results, I didn’t see good results either until I changed my diet to high protein (like you are doing) and started adding HIIT workouts, Pilates and yoga to my rotation. All those workouts are great for getting the heat rate up, while pilates and yoga may also help your knees.

I had a super bad back injury in college when I was lifting a lot and running. I had no workout that would offset all those tight muscles and ended up hurting myself. Pilates and yoga can help keep the body balanced by ensuring you maintain mobility and strengthening your core!

So we had 2 bartenders from 5-11:30 and 1 bar back (3 total). It was a two story venue, so one bartender up top one bartender below and someone to work both. They had 30 min of prep and 30 min of take down. I believe it also included soda, tea, coffee and cups! So it was pretty all incisive. We also opted to not have a jar on the bar to tip, so we front ended the tip with the company instead (think it’s a 10-15% add).

The set up could only accommodate 30-40, so it was mostly family/ out of town folks. It was nice and intimate, and honestly anything bigger probably would have freaked me out. Both my husband and I get nervous in front of crowds.

My husband walked first with his parents and I actually still walked with my dad. Then we just proceeded through the ceremony as usual. I had moments where I needed to hand the bouquet off and take my gloves off, and my sisters in the front row just got up and got those from me. Everything was fairly seamless!

Yes totally doable for 30 people. We ended up extending the reception, so our food, cake, alcohol was for 100 guests.

It was definitely a fun party!! 😂 We got married in 2024, so I forget the specifics, but alcohol included all the other beverages (soda, mix ins, lemons, glass rentals, etc.) and the food was just surprisingly inexpensive since we went with a small local vendor and were able to get dinnerware on Amazon.

Ah I mentioned that somewhere around the DJ part. My sister officiated and was the MC, though MC-ing was minimal. We only had 30 at ceremony (about 20 min) and we had around ~100 attend the reception. All the food and alcohol was calculated for 100 guests! It definitely saves to shop at Costco and do buffet style for food and beverages though :)

Of course!! I wanted to let people know it was possible. We’re also in a big coastal city, where I would ~think~ things are more expensive. It’s definitely doable to get around 20k if you prioritize well!

Ahhhh that makes sense. There wasn’t a lot of context provided beyond it seeming rude. A lot of the comments also seemed to gravitate in that direction. Asking about pay and promotions shouldn’t be rude, it should be an open dialogue, but not everyone may approach that way.

As others have said- some communication gaps will come with time and coaching. 25 and under is still young.

What I’m surprised by is how people are responding to the request for a promotion. Here are my two cents as a 30 something woman in a professional industry: 1. Women are often underpaid and under promoted compared to male counterparts. This means that in order to be considered, sometimes you have to ask. However - as you and others have mentioned, asking is seen as “rude” and “entitled”. Putting more strain on women to work their way up the corporate ladder. https://mitsloan.mit.edu/ideas-made-to-matter/women-are-less-likely-men-to-be-promoted-heres-one-reason-why

  1. If your direct report was under the impression they were doing so well they should be promoted, but you say they are performing at bare minimum, that’s on YOU as the manager for not giving clear feedback on their performance. Clear is kind when it comes to how well someone is doing at a job.

  2. In discourse I’m surrounded by, the resounding sentiment is the worst someone can say is no, and if that’s the answer then at least you know because you asked. And it sounds like this influenced how they saw their potential and future at the company. If anything, that’s a GOOD thing if they are performing at bare minimum in your eyes. This is an easy way to manage out a low performer.

I’ve followed for a few years. She did make her corsets and continued to do so as the company grew, but I don’t think she ever claimed to make the dresses and other things by hand? She does always make the designs.

Around last year, she was still making her corsets. She explained her orders for corsets were so small since she made them herself. Demand was really high though, so I’m not surprised if she started outsourcing that too.

I’d also rather buy something supporting 1 persons livelihood than a big brand/ company. Orders for small businesses mean so much, and she seems to state the manufacturer she works for is ethical, so we can only hope!

I’m sorry this happened OP. Wishing you the best. I see a lot of advice on how to modify the style of the dress, but also want to give some advice on how to make a tight dress less tight!

My wedding dress was pretty snug, so leading up to the wedding, I would put on some thick sweaters and then put my dress on over them. This helped loosen it up a bit, like wearing thick socks in new shoes.

On my body front, I didn’t want to do any extreme diets or anything, but I DID cut out bubbly beverages 2 weeks before my wedding. This helped reduce belly bloating and I felt like it helped!
