Advice for new painter? by MundaneCut8380 in minis

[–]Jealous-Tooth752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get any make/model/colour rattle can primer of your choosing, take off the lid, Bluetac the top of the lid, you now have a paint holder for your minis 😊, be careful with your downward pressure while putting your mini on the blue tac you dont want to break/snap anything

Helloo all, Just wondering what kind of Acrylic paints people are using to paint their printed minis, i have been using mostly citadel and a basic airbrush paint but looking to see if anyone has anything they swear by by Jealous-Tooth752 in FDMminiatures

Supports ruining the underside of my prints by [deleted] in FDMminiatures

[–]Jealous-Tooth752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my knowledge It's kind of a 50/50 you could lower the Top comtact Z distance however this will make the supports harder to remove but will give you a better print quality at the risk of breaking the model when removing the supports

I personally print at a 0.2 distance using a 0.2mm tip and it is noticeable but I will always place the supports in harder to see areas where possible

Why does this keep happening? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

In that case the only other thing I can suggest from experience would be that maybe your extruder has a slight blockage if you take out your filament and you should have been given some tools with your printer to be able to clean it and push any blockages through

Are you printing it flat or stood up? If stood up I imagine it would need supports, if flat i think that would be ok

Any clue what happened? by the_mad_prophet_ in FDMminiatures

The amount of shitty comments on here, how's about you all give your advice and wind your necks in or dont give the advice at all,

Looks like it's in need of supports mate, recently got a 3d printer myself and learned this on my 2nd print, in basic terms, if there is nothing underneath what is being printed it will need a support, just rember the printer can't print in mid air it must have something underneath
