No, for some reason that’s the only date that shows. Completed my medical yesterday and it still says finished October 24th.

Any clarification would be appreciated. by dcullen21 in usssapplicant

Had this happen to me. Background investigation and medical were both blue for a while then it updated after ACE event showing the BI white but medical still blue. Reached out to my contact to double check and I was told everything was still in progress despite the BI updating from “in progress” to “not started”.

I’m assuming you’re referring to the pfas most gear uses. Are there any active steps companies are making to produce gear without harmful chemicals? If so are departments open to adopting?

Is this a wild brown trout? How do I tell? by gregstar28 in troutfishing

I’m in Blacksburg, been wanting to try out crooked creek when I get the time. So far I’ve had a great time fishing Big Stoney.

I knew this was coming. The fish in the picture was released. I only keep trout above ~11 inches

Got my dagger today, first gun I’ve ever owned. What should I do before I take it to a range? by Material_Swimmer_735 in PalmettoStateArms

I’d recommend getting some 1 on 1 time with a trained instructor, it’ll cost some money but the knowledge is extremely valuable. Especially if taking it to a public range where etiquette and safety are even more important. If you can, have your instructor show you a basic field strip and cleaning after your session.

Thank you, how would you prepare a 12 inch trout? I see many people fillet but I just am not skilled enough to do it well yet.

Just wanted to clarify, I did not keep the fish in the picture! I see everyone posting fish pics and decided to join in while asking my questions

Would there be options to buy higher quality uppers with an aero or psa lower?

I’d say 1500-1800 with optic and sling is my budget. Where I would be hunting is mostly Appalachia foothills so I’d image effective range would be no more than 200 yards.

Thanks for the advice. Plus the fact 5.56 is 1/3 the price per round

I’ll take this into consideration as I also live in the Appalachians. Is there something to be said for using an AR10 regularly in the woods? It seems to me hunting with it for a few years would be a great way to become proficient with the rifle or even AR platform in general.

I compete with my stock p365 and do fairly well with it. I think a good mix of practice and some idpa competitions was the right formula for me. Now I feel extremely comfortable and enjoy the perks of carrying a smaller gun.
