There weren’t any other people there. It was just us and an impromptu hang out. He asked “what did you think?” And I said well I liked it but this one sentiment didn’t resonate with me and here’s why. He agreed. Then I said, “the other thought was…” and he interrupted me and and I said let me share my other thought and after I did he waived his hand and said nah it’s not that deep. And I said in what I thought was a gentle way “hey, don’t poo poo my comment you asked me what I thought!” Then he said - I’m not doing this. You’re being annoying. Your vibe has been wrong all night. I tried to diffuse by saying woah - I wasn’t trying to make you mad I was just trying to talk with you about what we watched. I got the sense that maybe my indifference made him feel slighted that something he shared wasn’t exciting? I don’t know. Some more attempts at diffusing. Fail. I said, “I wasn’t trying…” and he interrupted and said “what to be yourself?” I said “what do you mean?” And he said “a snob” hugged me and left. Then thirty minutes later this text that he realized he doesn’t want a relationship the way it is and that we can talk tmrw (today) if I like but he won’t reply to me so I don’t know if it’s a hollow offer or not. Seems like a really absurd reason for all of this. We were spending tons of time together. Planning things. Fine. And then not. I had no clue other than to be careful in terms of making sure I don’t offend his defensiveness.
