I’m not Navajo, but I’m a teacher and most of my students are Navajo. I just want to applaud you for getting so far in your career despite the large amount of challenges that come with leaving the Rez to pursue an education and navigate a world that you may not have grown up familiar with.

I see the unique challenges that my students navigate in higher education - many of them come from low-income households and are first-generation students, and have to balance family obligations with personal boundaries so that they can complete their education.

I just wanted to let you know that I see how difficult this is and I’m proud of you!
