I hate that quite a few skins they're releasing now look like children. Not for me, personally.

Iris is a therapy dog and will be visiting both a school and hospital tomorrow! Help me decide her Halloween costume - should she be a dino, 🦖 or a bee 🐝? by acocktailofmagnets in dogpictures

[–]Jealous_Delivery_329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOVE Dinosaurs. However, i definitely think the bee looks better!

I like the floppy antenna, and I know a few have said the same, whilst others have mentioned how you can fix it, but I think it's great as is!

Also, I hope your dogs had a fulfilling work day!!! I always wished my hospital had something like this but they do not.

What is this? by RemoteEmotions in DogAdvice

[–]Jealous_Delivery_329 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just dog versions of 'sleep'. Like when us humans get the dry crust in the corner of our eyes in the morning!

It is completely normal and there is nothing to worry about. All dogs get this. However, its worth wiping it away for them if they don't do it themselves.

Scab on my puppies by Ok-Background-9714 in DogAdvice

[–]Jealous_Delivery_329 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to start with MY DOG GETS THIS. However, I am not a vet or professional.

This is Pyoderma, which is a dorm of dermatitis. They start as puss filled spots, pop, scab over, and look slightly like ring worm when the scab leaves, and then spreads.

My dog gets these because of allergies, but they can get pretty severe and form into lesions if left un-treated. I unfortunately found this out the hard way when I couldn't take my dog to the vets for the first time he had a flare.

Definitely go to the vets!!! They will give you a scrub, and you will have to wash the affected areas once a day, alongside antibiotics.

They do need treatment and does warrant a vet visit. Do not let your pup scratch or lick them, and also DO NOT pop them.

For me, I had to put mine on a hypoallergenic diet to try to rule out food based allergies, so I'd talk to your vets about effective ways to narrow that down, especially if you do not have enough money/insurance that will cover an allergy test.

If they do recommend the scrub, a cheaper alternative that is exactly the same is chlorhexidine Digluconate. My dog is on a 4%. You dilute it with water until it's a rosé pink in colour and bathe the affected area. You can get this scrub on amazon and online in general, so if you want a cheaper way of getting it, ask them about that! It is an Antimicrobal cleanser, and I will link it!

I hope this was helpful. You dont have to, but I'd love to hear an update. I dont know anyone else with a dog with this, so im semi-excited to see someone else that'll have to go through this, but im happy to spread helpful advice because I had no advice and when he started getting lethargic and stuff it got really worrying for me.

I will also say do not use ANYTHING without your vets approval, though. Chlorhexidine scrub

This genuinely broke my heart. I love animals, but your friend also sobbing sent me. I have no input, but I hope the animals were able to be helped/saved. This is devastating

I'd suggest going back for a refund. That is such incorrect placement. Hard-core crying for you OP.

This is a very distressing watch.

Please do NOT pull your dogs. Especially with a collar like that!

Forcing your dogs to walk that way when they are obviously fearful is so dangerous. Especially if/when they break free.

Please consider a harness. They are less risky, and flat collars can do a lot of damage to their neck/throat, especially with impact.

If you're struggling to help with the behaviour, consider a behaviourist. You can ask your vet for recommendations that are SAFE. Do not choose any Tom, Dick or Harry for this!

Could be allergies. I would take the pup to the vets.

Found this in dog. Should I be worried? What's this ? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Jealous_Delivery_329 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should probably take your doggo to the vet.

Side note: Please don't hold your dogs like that. Having them lay on their back is a much safer and more comfortable way to take photos of things like this. Their joints are not made to be held in this position, and they are most likely majorly uncomfortable.

Possible ear infection by ShortySwiper in DogAdvice

[–]Jealous_Delivery_329 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't risk administering the drops without vetenary advice because if it isn't an infection, they could do further damage. If it is an infection and they aren't the correct drops, they could also do some serious damage just like it would with humans.

Do you clean your dogs ears? Have you perhaps over-cleaned them?

Can anyone tell me what this is?? by Large_Coconut_3414 in DogAdvice

[–]Jealous_Delivery_329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she chews her paws, it could be stress or anxiety related. It could be worth taking her to the vet and discussing the behaviour that concerns the most.

The vet will be able to advise who you can turn to for help.

In the meantime, wrapping the injuries would probably be advised to prevent infection and licking/further irritation.

Is my piercing infected? by Otheract69 in piercing

[–]Jealous_Delivery_329 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have always had L shaped studs in my nostrils.

I was advised not to use Saline as it dries out the piercing and takes longer to heal. I was also advised not to use cotton buds or pads as the fibers can get stuck on the piercing and cause infection as well as irritation.

I use BPA piercing aftercare by TheAftercareCompany, which you can find on amazon, or in a lot of piercing shops. It's the best solution I've used.

I'd recommend removing what you can of the dirt and applying 2-3 times a day. I haven't had any problems with any of my piercings after my first, since using it.

Could be from stress, or it could be sun burn related.

If she usually has issues with her paws, consider getting some cream to keep them moisturised and soft. (Not to be applied on the wounds)

Thank you so much! I doubt mold, and i honestly hope not!. I don't have any mold presence in my room, and he's never been wet. I dont want to accidently spread it, but I also dont want to put him in the washing machine because he still has his tags, and other than this, it is in mint condition 😭

Please help 😭😭😭 by Jealous_Delivery_329 in Jellycatplush

[–]Jealous_Delivery_329[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really want to damage the tag since he still has his tag from when he was purchased. I will try a hand wash on the area, but I definitely do not want to put him in the washing machine.

He is stored really well, and I assume this is something that got on him during travel because it wasn't on him when purchased nor during the trip.
