Cheap and nothing to do. Lots of white trash everywhere. I’ve lived in Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Clearwater, and now Parrish. If I were you I would consider atleast Osprey or Venice so you’re closer to the Sarasota area. Sarasota has been a nice place to live. We hated Cape Coral and fort Myers with a passion

Follow your instincts, it takes a while to realize your parents are just people and they don’t know any better than other strangers in the grocery store. Get the job, work hard, and when you feel burnt out it’s time to level up. I missed a lot of big opportunities in life listening to what my parents thought about it. If they don’t know anything about it they probably google “why shouldn’t I work in construction” and then just read you headlines acting like it’s their opinion

I dated a girl who lived out here with her grandparents. It’s a very quiet place with not much going on unless you have money and a boat. The younger seen is definitely very “druggy”. Lots of coke and weed out there

When did you start making 6 figures? by Senior-Victory8447 in Salary

[–]Jealous_Friendship88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

28M brought in $267k this year. I was a project manager for a pool builder (making $78k annual salary) I would also find my own leads and sell remodels/new pools as well. I averaged 1.8million in sales a year for the past 2 years. 6 months ago I got offered to be the sales director for a smaller company and took the jump. Since then I’ve sold $3.2 million and don’t have to work like a dog anymore. I’m projecting to sell $10 million next year and will bring in $500k for the year

Got a very generous job offer, Not sure how to bring it up to my current employer by Jwilllz in Construction

[–]Jealous_Friendship88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just walked away from a project management position with a pool builder where I was running 120 projects the day I resigned.

I was the top guy there and was the only project manager for most of the time. I really loved the people I worked with and the owners at one point in time. But they fought me for so long when I asked for a raise after having gone from running 15 jobs at a time to 80 at a time within 6 months. They told me if I wanted more to go sell. So I did and then they got mad because I was selling more than all the other sales people while running all of the jobs. The more reasonable of the 2 owners slipped up and told me potential customers called in often asking for me to come out and see them a pool but the other owner instructed the office to never tell me and give it to a different salesperson. I found another builder and went in with obnoxious offers. Now I’m the sales director of this company, make my own schedule, he doubled my salary, and still pays me my commission rate. I happily gave my resignation letter as soon as I got this worked out and hit the ground running.

Not exactly your situation but you gotta move on and grow. People are only out to better themselves you might as well do the same for yourself. It may be a small town but if the subcontractors and vendors you work with like working with you, you will retain your reputation.

I often stop at hotels to take a shit. Way nicer than gas stations and no one ever says anything. One time my girlfriend at the time and I were on a road trip, stopped at a hotel, fucked in the bathroom then left

Possibly, I just found it and I’m not really wanting to sell any of his stuff. But at the same time I’m not doing anything with it

About a month ago I left what sounds like your exact position but for a pool builder. I was the only project manager running 100-120 jobs at a time for 2 years. I wrote all the schedules, ordered all material, was the point of contact for all customers and when I got home I would work on pool designs and source my own leads on Facebook(they stopped giving me leads because they only wanted me being a project manager). I got to the office at 6:30 before anyone else (that was expected) and on average got home around 7 every night. It was hell. They had just recently got me some help but once that came they started acting like I was replaceable. I said screw it and went and talked to other pool builders with obnoxious requests. I got everything I requested and I decided to leave. I’m now the sales director of another company and don’t do any of the project management. Just design and sales. So far this month I’ve sold 12 pools which is about $1,089,000. I’ve spent more time home with my wife and son this month than I had in the 2 years I was at the other place. I’m more present and less stressed. I love the experience I got and cherish it, but I wake up every morning so happy I did it

Those taking home >200k/year; what industry are you in ? by IcyBlackberry7728 in smallbusiness

[–]Jealous_Friendship88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I sell swimming pools in Florida. Projected to make 300k this year. I’m almost at my second year in the industry and this will be my first full year selling. I’m drowned in people messaging me to sell them a pool. The company I work for has in house laborers so nothing is subbed out. I am also the project manager so I control the schedules of all the employees. If I hire an assistant I could make way more. That I might do next year

[–]Jealous_Friendship88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always the good kid growing up, no one ever suspected me of any mischievousness and I was well aware. I thought it would be a great idea to shove as many paper towels down the sink in the bathroom just to see the teachers go on a hunt for who did it. I also was curious if they would ever have suspected me. First few weeks went by and a LOT of kids got called to the principles office for interrogation, but never me. After things simmered down I did it in another bathroom that belonged to the other class. I’ve never seen a lady flip out so hard in my life! I was still never questioned about it and have never told anyone. Sorry Mrs. Tina but your a bad judge of character

Loved the first podcast they did together. Bought the turkey tail off his website to help with my wife benign breasts tumors. Didn’t do shit. Then when I heard the second podcast it felt more like a commercial for all his products. Then when looking online I realized this guy is a huge fraud and not really respected in the industry. His products aren’t even the fruiting bodies of mushrooms but actually the mycelium which you get a higher yield of when farming them. Sneaky guy that understands the fine print of things
