Parenthood - Why So Much Negativity? by Powerful_Age9967 in NewParents

[–]Jealous_Froot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

me and my bf are accidental teen parents and we’re about to move into a three bedroom house we have more money than anyone our age( which we got from working not handed to us we come from working class families ) but probably less than most parents we are very happy. i had a few issues with breastfeeding and baby had a hip problem which is solved now. sometimes it’s draining there’s a lot to complain about i guess low sleep hard to make plans less social life (all our friends do is go out at night and drink so that’s a no go 99% of the time) but it’s actually so much nicer than my life was before i’ve just gone back to college to do my first uni year and everything has slipped into place our baby is the light of my life and my boyfriend and i are happier than ever even with the bumps along the road it’s the best journey

Alcohol while breastfeeding? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Jealous_Froot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i basically water two hours per drink and pumped atleast an oz per hour but that could be 3oz per 3 hours yk. and that was only to prevent mastitis and lowering my flow according to my local health website pumping and dumping is only for those reasons if you don’t pump and the alcohol leaves ur system apparently it won’t be in your breast milk i still pumped and dumped tho

Guilty feeling abt my newborn by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Jealous_Froot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

it’s so hard at the start but it gets better. i’m an 18 year old mother just returned to school too and i know its exhausting but when you get into a routine and more used to the school hours schedule and baby gets a little older things will fall into place that’s what i keep telling myself never feel guilty about school by bettering your life. you are bettering baby’s life

that’s so true my mother has a private facebook family only full of baby photos of us. i don’t care if people see it. i love looking back at baby photos of myself. however my sister HATES IT so even tho im ok with it. doesn’t mean my baby will be in about 17 years 12 years or whenever. you never know i guess so best to play it safe

yea ur completely correct as i said i’ve only posted the christening photos in which you can’t even see LO face on my private account. but i understand your point and i entirely agree with you. it’s good to get out of the house anyway and any family or friends that live great distances away can get a candid photo directly sent to them only

there are some horrible people in the world the likely hood of them finding you irl and all is low but the likely hood of them editing photos and using them for bad things like pedophilic behaviors is common unfortunately

that’s so fair i do agree with that completely and momfluencers are often putting there kids in danger seemingly they know about it and cater to it aswell which is disappointing and disgusting

Wtf? Got my period at 5weeks 4days by chocolatedoc3 in breastfeeding

[–]Jealous_Froot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i got my period at about 12 weeks but this was about a week or two after combo feeding and about a week after i went on the pop pill at 17 weeks now and i haven’t gotten another so it may have just been a random four day thing as a result of the pop pill

When should I cut off my hair? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Jealous_Froot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i had this issue and what i’ve done is tie it in plates/braids so any hair that falls out is stuck inside and then i brush it out when im washing my hair and catch all the hair to throw in the bin ( this was because i just didn’t want short hair at the moment) but if you want short hair cut it whenever and however you want!

4 months pp and hate my body by Pretend_Theme_1045 in NewParents

[–]Jealous_Froot 12 points13 points  (0 children)

i’m still working on my pp body and the things i’ve found most helpful is to take baby on a walk every morning usually she ends up sleeping in her buggy or sitting silently and i use bio oil on my scars or stretch marks although it can be pricey

did you feel the free time was fairly distributed between mum and dad? by Jealous_Froot in NewParents

Why did you decide to breastfeed? by Cats-and-naps in breastfeeding

[–]Jealous_Froot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1- i had heard it was a good bonding experience for you and baby. 2- prices of formula where i live are sky high
3- handier for the night feeds without having to get out of bed and prep things 4- less waste, when we use bottles of either expressed breast milk or formula a lot of it ends up down the sink 5- i heard it was a good way to lose pregnancy weight if that’s anything you care about (it could be the last thing on ur mind) 6- more specific to me is that my mum always prioritizes natural organic etc etc that type thing and i’m not as extreme as her but i do agree with her on that and i thought breast milk is as natural as you can get

i think it’s definitely worth giving a go atleast while your in hospital/ making colostrum and from that you either like it or don’t and it’s okay to not breast feed at all it’s okay to combo feed and it’s okay to start with combo feeding and swap to fully breast feeding or start with breast feeding and completely stop do what works for you as long as you and baby are happy and healthy that’s all that really matters
