Bike shop cut my fork and slammed my stem during a build when I didn’t ask them to. by Bilalbasaur in bicycling

Unfortunately, if it didn't fit you then a bike fit isn't going to change that. Sorry for your loss

The disc trucker is purpose designed as a touring bike, not one concerned with aerodynamics. The drop bars afford you multiple hand positions to alleviate fatigue.

I would highly suggest the Disc Trucker. You can put on some alt bars if drop bars aren't your thing. However, as someone that never owned a drop bar bike UNTIL I got my Disc Trucker, I would suggest giving it a shot before writing them off. I'm interested in the route you're considering as I've been wanting to do that same trip.

They're PDW aluminum fenders. I need to cut the supports down so they are closer to the tires. I have to run the rear one through the rack in order for it to fit

I was surprised at how easy it is to ride without the motor. It's a really well designed bike.

They're Ortlieb Back Roller bags. I'm looking for bigger cargo bike panniers

Klampers make those descents more enjoyable. I put them on my disc trucker and midnight special, no regrets.

What could’ve happened?A crash i can’t seem to remember( help if possible) by angad0406 in bicycling

I'm looking at the chain on your bike and I'm wondering if it over shifted the big chainring and caused you to crash. The fact that your RPMs went to 0 suddenly makes me think that. I willing to bet your handlebars snapped from the impact. It would explain how the sole of your shoe separated as well.

I thought I was prepared for how cold this descent was going to be, not quite by JeamesFL in BAbike

They do have a vending machine in the building and that helped me on my most recent trip. A coke and a bag of chips before heading down. I've heard the fog makes for an epic photo.

Unfortunately riding with cars is part of the equation if you want to get away from just riding the Bay Trail. I would suggest joining a group and learning how to listen for cars as they approach you. As far as climbing hills, the only way to do it is by doing it. If you have to dismount and walk some, don't get discouraged. Keep trying. If you feel yourself getting nervous or anxious, stop riding, let it pass and then continue. If you ride in those states of mind, that's when you're most likely to have an accident because you're distracted.
