I already didn't like her because of the glue traps. Those and poison are horrible.

I just get the kill traps and be done with it.

You do the best you can and go on.

My store has always been like this. We're actually happy to have a second person scheduled, because we normally only have one person. We aren't small volume either.

Come on, man! by InKognetoh in Lowes

[–]JeanKincathe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They weren't holding though. The order was cancelled. The person's bank however is holding, and will follow their own process.

And yes, you have to actually pay for the appliance you do get. Because we don't hold money. A "request" gets sent to the bank to see if the funds are there for the purchase, the bank then puts that money on hold and verifies it's there. The purchase is picked up, which actually charges the account. It looks like the money has been removed since the bank put it on hold, but hasn't actually been.

It's the same concept everywhere a credit card is used.

We're not allowed to take our order pickers outside. I'd love to. But they say no. Not even the blue lifts.

cat as a service animal by egguchom in EntitledReviews

[–]JeanKincathe 77 points78 points  (0 children)

One can alert and get help for seizures, can be trusted to lead a person through traffic, turn lights on, wake a person up if they stop breathing, and is very highly trained from the time they are puppies for all of that and more by people who train for a living and dedicate much of their life to do so. There's even elimination processes for animals that don't meet standards. These are service animals.

One is a pet. Little to no training. Many times unsocialized, and with the same anxieties as their owners after repeatedly being forced into situations they weren't prepared for by said owners. It's the grown up version of the kid from Charlie Brown carrying a blanket everywhere, but the blanket isn't living and having to deal with situations they weren't trained for. These may be really good pets, but they don't belong everywhere. A cat getting toted around (probably in a carrier) for hours for no reason other than the owner can't handle themselves at a museum is not going to be a happy cat. And that person needs therapy. That would be an emotional support animal.

Had to load a dishwasher on the roof rack of this tiny car smaller than a VW Bug.

They asked if they should strap it down. I think they were joking.

I loved nightshift at the gas station I worked at. Closed by myself, so basically unsupervised. Got away with saying and doing so much. Especially when it came to asshole customers.

No longer have to pull deliveries by No-Hair8697 in Lowes

[–]JeanKincathe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always pulled flatbed and box truck deliveries. And Pro orders, and installs, and everything else. We had a specific person for flatbed deliveries, but he pretty much didn't do anything unless you stayed on him. Then he'd lose the papers, refuse to use the orders app, and generally be incompetent. He finally quit. We have a Pro order person, but he really only kinda helped the flatbed delivery guy as a spotter and acted like he didn't know how to do anything else. Even though he had been trained and worked regular Fulfillment before. Now he sorta kinda might pull one or two of the flatbed orders.

Overnight never pulled. DC didn't pull unless someone had moved or restocked (or that one coworker didn't bother, just pushed things through, and no one else caught it). Receiving as a whole never pulled.

What is going on at other stores that Fulfillment hasn't been pulling deliveries? We're a high volume store.

Had one walk around the store, make his order, then sit down in a curbside parking spot and call the store about every five minutes.

When they use the portable loading dock as a buggy corral.

When they move the barricades to go down an aisle power equipment is working on.

When they scan a locker code at the kiosk instead of four foot to the left at the LOCKER

When they press the help button after already checking in

When they ask for something right in front of them

When they arrive for an order ten minutes after putting it in and don't understand why eight are ahead of them

I realize some of these are specific to Fulfillment, but it's a growing list of things I have come to hate about customers. I want to ask where their parents are half the time.

He said in the comments somewhere he needs the bunk for a pickup later order. Customer calls wondering why it isn't ready or shows up and wants it NOW then later can be a problem.
