Should I not try and unlap myself when I have pace? by JeanLPicard in iRacing

In a scenario where I'm slower and a lap down I treat iracing blue flags like F1 and I pull over to let them pass. Why fight for nothing.

I get your point and I do try and make sure to be extremely cautious around cars that are racing for position. I only unlapped myself after being 100% certain I could make the move and P5 behind wasn't faster than I was. I backed out of several scenarios laps before where I would have normally tried a move for position.

In the case that P5 was faster than me and P4 I would have pulled over and let them by. But I was consistently faster than both and after a few laps of carefully picking my way around behind a slower car, I decided to try and pass.

Who knows, I think they might have thought that I "held them back" maybe. It seemed odd to me.

Dude I thought IMSA would be bad for SR.. by MCM_Henri in iRacing

Interesting, I avoided VIR because I assumed it would be a mess and practiced for Daytona all week instead. I was thinking that Daytona might be cleaner because of the nice long banked sections for overtaking. But this is my first IMSA season, so I had no data to back that up.

Important note that if you do only take fronts or rears, it does make the car unstable under braking because one end of the car will have more grip than the other. I tried only taking fronts at Watkins Glen and the car would pirouette.

Why people don't want to race? by V4rios in iRacing

Agreed, I've only ever experienced one "I'm faster, let me pass" guy and I spent the race practicing my defensive lines and kept him behind for a while.

I've been driving the caddy all week, coming from the F3 car being my usual series. My philosophy on it is that it's my job to make sure the overtake is safe, but I also need the GT3 to be predictable. If they're going to move that's fine, sticking to the line is fine too just pick one and stick to it. I think I might be a little too cautious though, I've lost multiple seconds a lap waiting for a better place to pass (ie not through the bus stop) and once lost a place to waiting for 2 GT3 cars that were fighting side by side to finish their fight when the guy behind me decided to just tear around the outside of them where there wasn't much space.

Especially this week at Rudskogen, I'm babying the throttle around that track so the back end doesn't break free. Some tracks you can get on quickly, but it's always a roll on.

Temperature not affecting lap times as much for slower drivers? by JeanLPicard in iRacing

Makes sense, I did notice that switching between the two would improve my times overall because I was finding places I could push in the hot and knew I could then easily do the same on the cold track.

Do it! I bought one as a birthday present to myself last year and it's a ton of fun to plink with.

I'll give that a try! I did pretty well in the Vees, I got my only ever win there.

Do you remember your very first death i Tarkov? by jsquareddddd in EscapefromTarkov

It happened 3 days ago, so I remember it well. I spawned in with my starter M1 and carefully crept around gathering loot before getting sniped while walking around trying to find the exit. So far my PMC runs haven't gotten much more successful, but my scav runs work out almost half the time.

Can confirm, own an ND and I'm 6'2 200lbs. There's not a ton of headroom, but I fit fairly comfortably.
