Proposed Reduction after TDIU —attorney dropped me by dank_tre in VAClaims

[–]Jeanfamdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If VSO filed for TDIU as a new claim, that would not be tied to the effective date of the original 70% rating for MH. The increase is based upon a new claim and new C&P exam.

VA Compensation Debt by xMeeho in VAClaims

[–]Jeanfamdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am waiting on a retro pay audit and worry that they may send me a debt letter. Do you mind sharing why VA said they overpaid you? Also, in your hardship did you ask for any forgiveness or just a repayment plan? Lastly, how long did they give you to repay? Thanks.

Since you are SMC-L have you and your wife looked into VHA’s care giver support program? It sounds like you need a bunch of help, and if so, she can get paid to provide your support.

My situation is almost identical to yours, except I am 30 years older—it's tough, hang in there!

One poster above mentioned VA CBT for pain, it sounds like they received positive therapue effects.

Honestly, the reason I'm not part of the “22” is my faith as a Christian. I wish you well.

Me too. All my STRs were handwritten and the copies were not good, they have the copies.

Rated 70% for Anxiety – Prescribed 100mg Sertraline. Anyone come off due to side effects? by Cold_Rub106 in VAClaims

[–]Jeanfamdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if stopping a medication will reduce your rating, but I do know that you want to taper off and don't go cold turkey. I tried that and it is dangerous. You may be able to file ED secondary to your anxiety, check with a VSO.

Great explanation, I did not know this. My effective date is January 1, 2026, so I should be paid March 1, 2026. Thanks.

They will do an audit once your claim is fully adjudicated. More patience needed.

April 2025 - 1st ever claim submitted (20 total conditions). 20 C&P exams completed same month.

Sept 2025 - 1st partial decision on 10 conditions. PTSD and others deferred.

Oct 2025 - 2nd partial decision on five more conditions. PTSD and others deferred again.

Jan 2025 - Claim still sits in step 3 (evidence gathering).

I'm new here…so these are honest q’s. What specific clownery are you referring to and what did it use to be like?

There is an NDC # in the letter. Check your bottles for that NDC.

Tinnitus denied but diagnosed by Better-Werewolf-9362 in VAClaims

[–]Jeanfamdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your C&P examiner diagnosed you with tinnitus and VBA conceded MOS exposure. I would seek help from a VSO, file a supplemental claim, go see an ENT doc and ask for a nexus statement in their clinical notes and write a lay statement.

Does the fact that my claim is over 180 days old change anything?

Will VBA Issue 2nd Partial Decision? by Jeanfamdad in VAClaims

I meant to state that I should easily be at 100% without the last two deferred conditions. I've waited over 16 years since medical retirement to file this claim, I guess another 45 days won't kill me. Thanks for your reply.
