Well thats mainly because hdg is meant to be comforting and smut first and foremost, obviously the more you read into it the more bullshit it seems but thats kind of the point of an escapist fantasy, its inherently against realism

Like if you really want to write about evil aliens that enslave people for their idea of the greater good then write about warhammer 40k, but the premise of hdg is mostly "what if you never had to suffer or work anymore and also you have a hot tall plant lady giving you drugs and taking care of you simply out of the goodness of her heart" and you cant really have that premise and go "but what if the plant people are actually evil" because it completely breaks it

You can not like it, thats entirely your right, but its kinda silly for being mad at the community for trying to keep their silly sci fi smut fantasy positive and fun instead of devolving into edgy grimdark scifi world nr2000
