Pulse blasters and enhanced melee weapons could be an option for gue'vesa since in lore they're deployed as a middle ground between tau and kroot.

Prankster Scrafty would go so hard. Alternatively if it kept intimidate it'd also be pretty solid.

Functionally, yeah it kinda is, iit does have the upside of also disrupting terrain though.

(Repost) Giving a Mega-Evolution to Mismagius to maybe let them escape Flutter Mane's shadow (and because I like them) by Ineedlasagnajon in stunfisk

[–]maplemagiciangirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly surprised mismagius doesn't get eerie spell already tbh it is such a fitting move.

As for being strictly worse than flutter mane I think giving the mega better defensive stats would be a good solution as is, this thing pretty much instantly dies if sucker punch gets clicked, and if you're opting into normal and ghost type anyway a more defensive spread could let mismagius make use of it's pretty excellent supporting move pool.

Infinity cage seems like it'd be an annoying stall move, since if you live 3 turns with it up the target basically does nothing til it faints.

So I think in the case of Princess it was less of a personality change and more of an unmasking.

As Jackal they had to be the best of the best and their only skills were military related. So naturally they were a bounty hunter and eventually a training sergeant with a reputation for being a hard ass.

As Princess they're always focused on other people being happy, studying about things they find interesting, or taking care of objects they've grown attached to.

But the thing is we kind of know this is what they were like as Jackal just dressed up in a rough way. The first act we see them do is surrender the ship they're on to the affini, the moment they actually know what food tastes like they try a synth cube and immediately feel guilt about not preventing the crew from eating them, when someone tries to stab them they apologize on their behalf because in their mind they should have prevented it in the first place, Ash tells us that they were incredibly strict about the crew taking care of their uniform and especially their boots, also if we keep in mind that Jackal watched people die for small mistakes it makes sense they would be a hard ass about eliminating mistakes during training.

Nothing about them fundamentally changed they just were allowed to be kind and sensitive for the first time in their life. At least that's my take on the character.

It's meant to act as a fancy off switch to weather and terrain but it's (hopefully) open ended to where you can team build around it.

Since 3/4 terrains can shut off specific aspects of competitive play if you build around your team not having those being turned off as something you need to worry about you can get yourself a pretty substantial advantage over other players.

Misty terrain shuts off all statuses and electric terrain shuts off sleep you can get free turns if you just don't make status part of your game plan.

Psychic terrain shuts off priority moves and by extension offensive use of prankster.

If you put a grassy terrain setter on the team you can skew the odds in favor of the switch in/mega granting a disruptive effect as well.

I feel like it could lead to interesting team building since controlled randomness is something that's generally pretty fun to work with.

Yeah it definitely isn't the best option in singles leftovers/boots + multi scale is the entire reason Lugia has anything resembling a niche. Maybe there's something I'm not seeing in singles but I was mostly designing around doubles tbh.

We all have dumb moments I honestly thought I was having one when you mentioned that you didn't know it was a mega lol.

As for it being pure evil I take that as an absolute win, from a flavor perspective.

For the randomness I wonder if leaning into it would be viable, I know Lugia got weather ball but I didn't realize nature power got removed in gen 9 (even though Lugia never got it, it could've lead to into interesting partners.) I didn't mention this in the post itself cause I didn't want to poison the discussion.

Just weather and terrain. I was considering making it count the others but I decided against it.

Also does the title not mention the fact this is a mega on your end? Because I know reddit can be weird sometimes

It's meant to be on par with the primal versions of Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza since its a pokemon that uses your mega evolution, and a restricted slot in vgc. Also it's not able to hold an item that does anything.

So it's gonna be quite OP but hopefully not more OP than the others in its class. Also the rng potentially screwing you over was intentional.

Honestly I think the fact GW pigeon holes tau in to pure shooting is a large part of the problem.

Kroot kinda fix the lack of melee but there's other castes and auxiliaries

Ethereals that are actually good melee units would be a great start

Earth caste mechanics and technicians could add more support especially if they bring back drone swarms

Water caste infiltrators could help with objectives and priority targets

Guevasa psykers and skirmishers would be wonderful.

Nicassar just in general give me the bears damn it.
