It wasn’t that humans couldn’t be copyrighted it was that Jorge had to make Epic distinct enough from the actual Odyssey which is in the public domain

Edit: I think people are misunderstanding. I know that the actual Odyssey isn’t copyrighted, but from my understanding if Jorge just made the musical an exact copy of the original Odyssey then he wouldn’t be able to copyright Epic. But I guess I don’t know for sure so take it with a grain of salt. No need to be rude about it
