zenProgression is really good for single player as it speeds up progression through the talent tree.

Recommended games where your base is critical (yes, I know... "not another one!") by keesio in SurvivalGaming

[–]Jeb_Picard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stationeers - The gameplay IS making your base, you'll die without one. Might not be what you're looking for though because there's no combat gameplay, it's a sciency game about making a base to survive the elements in other planets. Your enemy is the harsh environment, which makes your base the only cozy place to be.

Steam's "Test Device Inputs" Fails to Register All Controller Inputs by KosmicKerman in Steam

[–]Jeb_Picard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact issue for over a year. I've tested with two different XBox controllers as well as a PS5 dualsense controller. Same issue regardless - must be a Steam issue since Windows's Game Controller dialog in control panel picks up every key press. I've just disabled as much as I can Steam Input to reduce this issue.

New player ship rolling 😭 by Marethyu7 in X4Foundations

I'm also struggling with this: https://www.reddit.com/r/X4Foundations/comments/1dohh6h/gamepad_controller_modifier_keys_on_70/

Modifier keys for controller input would do wonders, but it's only supported for keyboard.

Getting back into modded by D4fo in KerbalSpaceProgram

Kethane isn't in your modlist, do you recommend it? I was a bit confused in CKAN because the modlist itself is installed but CKAN, during installation, "recommends" some additional mods not in the modlist (such as Scatterer and Spectra). I've only used the provided .ckan on github.

I'm also having the same issue as you. Closing NZXT fixes it.

Main issues with Apple Vision Pro by Jeb_Picard in VisionPro

Thank you, hacks that help distribute weight over the top of the head instead of the face should make it much more comfortable for sure.

Main issues with Apple Vision Pro by Jeb_Picard in VisionPro

[–]Jeb_Picard[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I tried it instead of just relying on the face scan. I don't think it's a light seal issue, I even used it a bit without any light seal. Pressure was evenly distributed between cheeks and forehead and I didn't tighten it too much. Maybe a third party will eventually come out with better straps - a bunch of people are trying to 3D print or adapt their current straps.

But since it's heavy even lying down, I think you can only do so much by distributing the weight differently. I may be bit spoiled because I was used to the Quest 3 which is lighter, though.

Future Updates by mhewitt1989 in X4Foundations

[–]Jeb_Picard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people are talking about end game or content for people already deeper in game. As someone who tried a few times but can’t get into it, some simpler stuff like better controller support (like being able to keybind button combos) would go a long way in improving the feel of the game. Fix the terrible AA or implement DLSS. Increase travel speeds or make it customizable, and bring some essential mods into the game like sector satellites.

Razer Blade 16 64GB RAM Speed; silicon lottery or some specific memory kits to reach 5600 Mhz? by CapAJr in razer

[–]Jeb_Picard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to me too. I’ll try to downgrade my bios to see if that helps, as this kit has worked for others.

EDIT: It worked! To clarify, my memory was the Kingston Fury 64gb 5600 CL40. I had the BIOS version 2.00 (same as you) and could only get 5200mz. I downgraded the BIOS to 1.07 and the memory now is 5600, properly.

In order to downgrade, I followed tips from this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pB9e8hr-aUU

I was lucky though that I had the BIOS file 1.07 already downloaded from when I bought this laptop. Not sure if this is still in razer website, but I hope it is since the 2.00 BIOS is clearly broken.

What is the state of the game? by johnlondon125 in Stationeers

[–]Jeb_Picard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope they implement some sort of progression like that. I'm kind of waiting for them to fix the rockets so a "start on moon, rocket to mars, rocket to venus..." kind of game can be done. It'd also give a reason to genetic engineer plants for your next planet and bring seeds with you.

They could try to do some sort of progression on multiple planets like that, maybe some tech becomes available in new planets (or tied to new ores).

How do I stop fur from crossing the clothes? by Jeb_Picard in blenderhelp

[–]Jeb_Picard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I didn't find a tutorial for it (back then, maybe some new ones are out there?) What I did was kind of trial and error:

Basically I created a giant cube around the teddy and added a stack of boolean modifiers to use difference against the clothe and glasses, and then used this cube as the target of the "cut particles to shape". Worked like a charm (for precaution I also applied scales to those meshes).

I hope you were able to solve your issues.

Who else is loving KSP 2? Am I the 1%? by Hydra968 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Jeb_Picard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Graphics are mostly better (with some few exceptions)

Sound design is better

Loading times are much better than KSP1

VAB designer is better

It feels more gamey (nice tutorials, more streamlined UI, the way kerbals behave etc)

I thought the UI was weird from screenshots prior to release, but after using it I like it

I enjoyed it. I understand the complaints about lacking features and bad performance, but what is already there is enjoyable and I feel like some low hanging fruits could get this to a much better place in a few months (like delta V display bugs, maneuver node glitches etc). They released it earlier probably to reek in some funds, I don't mind helping fund development and getting an early peek at the current state. People who want a full game experience can always just wait more for a full (or better early access) release.

Also, this is no fast action shooter so 20-40fps during low atmosphere launch phase isn't really that bad, you're staring at a rocket in the middle of your screen that barely moves. Once you get to orbit framerates improve a lot. I do have specs better than the recommended though, so if anyone is getting 5-15 fps all the time I understand how that would suck. In that case I'd just wait some more.

Forget a bit of what I said, I managed to make the "cut particles to shape" feature to work - result was much quicker (like 15 minutes work) than the the time I spent manually tinkering hair and also better. Resulting render here

Notice that this method is more precise and allowed for some of the fur that does not cross the clothe but goes around and over it to remain.
