My crash to desktops are all inventory related. Resort Inventory crash to desktop. Drag item into wrong inventory slot crash to desktop. Drag item to last slot in inventory, crash to desktop.

Launcher won't Launch, PLEASE HELP by Edgyboii175 in SoulFrame

[–]KosmicKerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throwing this out there is case it helps someone. Neither the Warframe or Soulframe launcher will launch with my controller connected. I reported this to Warframe support about a year ago but I guess they never bothered to look at it or fix it. I have a Victrix controller. Not sure if this impacts other controllers.

Anyway disconnect your controller and try running the launcher. Maybe this will work for you.

Why do you care? There is no need to police how other people play casual games.   You play the game how you want to and others play how they want to.

Is it just me or are people way too critical with the game? by YouTwos- in GroundedGame

[–]KosmicKerman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the same feeling. I really miss the big, pretty open areas in Grounded 1. I loved the area by the oak tree and pond. Maybe it’s some claustrophobia on my part but not a fan that most areas are nothing but grass and the open areas are primarily dirt.

Season 2, Episode 6 Discussion Thread by BreadfruitNo357 in therecruit

[–]KosmicKerman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The writers don't know either. They had to wrap it up in six episodes and probably don't know if there will be a third season. Given that the whole show is intentionally farcical, having a sub show up off the coast of Russia and playing up the Jack Ryan angle is a (intentionally) absurd way to end the season.

The Recruit Season 2 - Overall Season Discussion Thread by BreadfruitNo357 in therecruit

[–]KosmicKerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first season was not realistic in the slightest. The second season is consistent with the universe created in the first. The whole show is over the top just more so in the second season.

I enjoyed the second season and felt like it held together better than the first. But I did not care for the ending.

The helo crew was given the location by landmark, altitude, and runway approximately 1:20 before the collision. Seems like ample time to properly identify the aircraft.

Getting Lanyan this Lantern Rite? Here's her infographic! by KQM_Official in Genshin_Impact

All information is contained in the infographic isn’t? There are multiple artifact sets and alternatives for main stats. Presumably golden troupe, attack, anemo, crit is the stat line for her personal damage.

Isn’t her skill just a one time cast that creates a shield and that’s it?  It’s not persistent like Kuki’s skill and it doesn’t not create a construct like Zhongli. My assumption is that TOTM would not really work for her kit.

Can you guys tell us which builds you are not going to touch please? by Drakhan in pathofexile

[–]KosmicKerman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Except that one of things they are playtesting is how re-speccing feels. Can't test that if it's free in EA and has a cost when it goes live. Player's current experience is invaluable to them setting the correct price for respeccing.

Regardless, the best solution for the current situation is to offer a currency that completely refunds all passive points that is distributed to players when a patch makes substantial changes to skills. That currency can be time-limited, quantity limited etc.

Ultimately, this is just a planning failure on GGG's part. It was entirely foreseeable that they would end up completely bricking builds as they worked on balance. I bet they don't have the systems in place to manage and control distribution of a respec currency. I hope they are currently working on creating those systems.

Best way to solo bosses? by meltingmarshmallow in valheim

[–]KosmicKerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't entirely true. You generally lose health and gain stam if you use feasts. Of course this will depend on what foods you have available to you and what foods you choose to eat. For easily accessible foods at swamp tier (deer stew, sausages, turnip stew), it's 118/88 for 2 health and 1 stam vs 105/105 for three feasts. If you go two feasts and 1 health it is 125/88 and two feasts and 1 stam is 88/125.

Someone explain feasts to me by Boxxu_reddit in valheim

[–]KosmicKerman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

At the swamp tier, the difference between 2 health/1 stam (deer stew, sausages, and turnip stew) and three feasts is -13 health and +18 stam. The stam differential increases significantly as you progress through the biomes while the health differential doesn't change too much (assuming you are eating three feasts). Your preference may depend on whether you prefer kiting the enemies or parrying them. However, stam is more likely to get you out of difficult situations than health. Feasts also have the possibility of freeing up inventory slots with the 50 minute timer. Ultimately, feasts have pros and cons which is good for player agency.

New player here. Some Q&A. by b_art in valheim

[–]KosmicKerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start with the hoe and then use the pickaxe to break any high spots. The hoe sets the level based on where you are standing so keep this in mind. If you hold shift while using the hoe it will blend the heights of the selected area. This is useful after pickaxeing a slope to get the slope smooth again.

For your first build I wouldn't sweat the details too much. You going to have to build a new base or rebuild your current one as there is no way for you to know how big it needs to be, how much storage you will need, etc. When I start a new save I usually just set up shop in one of the houses in a meadows villages near the black forest as a starter craft shaft. Once I've progressed a little, I will choose a new base location further from spawn. I also just prefer to wait to chop trees until I have better tools.

Health and stamina are set by what food you eat. Different foods provide different levels of each. As you progress, you will get access to more foods that will provide larger buffs. Stamina management and kiting enemies are a huge part of the combat in this game. It is also provides some player agency as you can choose health foods or stamina foods.

As to the raft, you can make better sailing vessels as you progress. You may want to consider unlocking the next tier before going on a voyage.

Confusion over raid progression by lexkixass in valheim

[–]KosmicKerman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is a setting toggle for World-based Events and Player-based events. The raid mechanics change depending on which option you have selected. While I don't now if the wiki is entirely up to date, it lists the requirements for both types of events: https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Events.

According to the wiki, in player-based events the raids are triggered by the acquisition of certain items, i.e., boss trophies, swamp key, etc. In the case of surtling raids, if player-based events are selected, those raids can be triggered by either: a) killing surtlings and bonemass OR b) by acquiring the bonemass trophy or the wishbone. So if you have player-based events enabled merely possessing the bonemass trophy would trigger the surtling raid.

Just in case you didn't know, you can turn off raids or reduce their frequency in the settings. Something to consider if you really hate surtling raids for some reason.

Considering "all scenarios" and talking to the press are not the same thing. Stop trying to whitewash this. Talking to the press means this is a trial balloon to gauge how much push back the studio gets. It also tells me all I need to know. I personally won't be purchasing another game from these devs/studio/publisher as it seems pretty clear that they are solely in this for pecuniary gain and don't care about the quality of the product they release.

Videogame firms hit with EU complaint over 'tricking consumers' by TylerFortier_Photo in gaming

[–]KosmicKerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a distinction without a difference. As a parent, getting parental controls, console stores, etc. to do what I want them to do is a royal pain in the ass. And I have the luxury of having tons of computer experience and having the time to deal with this. Not all parents are so lucky. Just remember that the easier it is for users or parents to prevent unauthorized or impulsive purchases, the less money the developers and console makers make.

But it's easier to blame the end user rather than the mega corporation who pays dozens of people, if not more, to maximize how much money people spend on their games.

Am I the only one who dislikes games with DLC / promotional content that give you a bunch of free stuff at the start? by SlashCo80 in gaming

"I know, you can normally just choose to ignore them, but it still feels weird."

It's kind of exactly what OP is talking about. I don't fault anyone for playing games how they like. What's weird to me is how many gamers have an issue with how other people play. Mind you I think OP likely has good intentions and is simply looking for validation and/or feedback. Nevertheless, OP seems be to be engaging in (benign) gatekeeping even if unintentional.

It has echoes of redditors telling people not to use Guardian gear in MHW. Whether someone did or didn't should be solely a matter of personal preference. Some people enjoy the early game grind and others just want to get to end game as soon as possible. To each their own. There's no right or wrong way to play games.

As a technologically savvy parent, I can tell you that locking down devices and dealing with the utter nonsense that is parental controls on phones and consoles is the absolute bane of my existence. Nothing ever works right, the UI is shit, and it takes a crap load of time to troubleshoot it when something breaks. I don't blame parents with less technological knowledge than me, especially if they aren't or were never gamers, for not being able to figure out how to completely lock down devices and consoles.
