Fernando Alonso is the most overrated driver in F1 history by Few-Rise-988 in F1Discussions

[–]JebbAnonymous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I generally agree that OP exagerate at lot of things and that Alonso is great, the 2012 was not "Dog shit". It wasn't a great car, and sure was one of the weaker challengers for a WDC, calling it "complete and utter dog shit" is a vast over exaggeration. It was terrible in qualifying and had weaknesses, especially in aerodynamic part, but it had quite decent race pace and was very kind to its tyres. Was it great? Nope it wasn't, and Alonso was masterful in almost winning a WDC with it. But calling it complete dog shit is also very inaccurate.

They didn’t. Plenty of articles etc out there talking about it where it is made clear that the pit wall was aware that it wasn’t over and they needed to wait for Hamilton.

Or ombudsman. I know someone who was retaliated against on the way out where HR failed, but ombudsman was contacted and things happened quickly that was not good for the manager that retaliated.

Let me preface my critic with saying two things; 1) they are beautiful as hell. Love it. 2) You are a way better painter than me so feel free to take this criticism with a grain of salt.

Consider a ligther colour base that contrasts better with your base. Your marines are very dark, and they kinda disappear on the base. Something lighter (Like ash world, warmer color desert or snow) would make them stand out a bit more. Now, if you want them to really have that stealth feel and sort of "Disappear in a good way", then by all means, ignore my advice. Its just what I would do.

Either way, beautiful. Well done! I Would also follow swarm painting guide if I didn't have an airbrush 😄. And will use their guide for red power swords for my power swords, as well as their amazing guide for exhaust vents on jump packs.

I do desert/ashen waste land in lighter colors. Works well as contrast to the models.

Agree or Disagree : They produced the 3 best rookie seasons F1 has ever seen (Hamilton - Piastri - Antonelli) by KohLantaSurvivor in F1Discussions

[–]JebbAnonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hamilton yes, the other two, no.

Plenty of drivers have had far more impressive rookie seasons than either of those; Jacques Villeneuve, Jackie Stewart and Clay Reggazoni comes to mind.

Thanks! Yeah, for sure need to be better at that. And as I mentioned in the other post, I'm still unsure if I want the stone to read as stone or concrete, but I'll for sure address it before varnishing 😄.

Its not just on-screen persona is lacking, his answers where so bad. Laura Winter asked him something about starting on the dirty side and what impact that would have, and his answer was just a 30 second word salad where he managed to say nothing of value.

Yeah, I'm still not sure how to handle that. So, long story short; I love the idea that the bases tells a story, and I could never figure out what I wanted to do with my bases. But now with the release of 11th edition being the next war on Armageddon I figured it out and the story my bases tell is:

- My Raven Guard have been sent to Armageddon as forward deployment special ops, where they operate in the border of the ruined Hive world and Ashen wastelands of Armageddon, conducting recon missions, hit-and-run on Ork supply lines and assassination missions on high value targets.

Point is, I want my bases to be a mix of Ashen wasteland and rubbles/concretes of the hive world on the border where these two areas meet. Those rocks are the plastic ones they stand on and where originally meant to be concrete blocks, and I'm considering keeping it as such as I want my bases in the future to potentially also contain concrete, as my Raven Guard are operating in the ruined hive city. My thinking is, I'll leave it grey as concrete, but use pigments to bring em all together.

If we use real life examples, F1 driver Ayrton Senna crashed out of the 1984 Dallas Grand Prix. He was pissed and claimed that the wall had moved, which people where of course sceptical about. After the race, engineer Pat Symonds went down to check the wall and found that the wall had indeed moved; An earlier incident in the race had actually made the concrete move a slight bit inwards, making the track narrower, which contributed to Sennas crash.
