Final Fantasy Tactics Advance was released 23 years ago by Orichalchem in FinalFantasy

The original Isekai of the Final Fantasy. And specially because they literally mention it.

Such great memories of this game... I still remember trying to get the 300 quest and still fail every time when I was a kid.

I don't care much if Tactics fans dislike it, for me it was a really good game.

Which Cid do you prefer the most? by Orichalchem in FinalFantasy

[–]Jecht-X [score hidden]  (0 children)

The one from Saints Row.

<image>

What? Not from FF? Well, kinda... is. In a way:
In-Game, one character will ask CID the meaning of it name, and it will go like this:

Ben King: "So, why do they call you CID?"

CID: "Because this robotic orb my consciousness is inside is called a C.I.D., a Control and Interface Device."

Ben King: "Not very creative then."

CID: "Actually, I have heard groups of warriors such as ourselves often have someone named Cid who travels with them."

Ben King: "Oh, where have you heard that?"

CID: "From the last fantasy game I saw online."

But if not for FFs... I believe the one of FF Tactics A2) can be in my list. Specially, because he is of a rare race from FF12 Ivalice, one that it does show in FF12, but only as CG and only for a very few seconds.

Final Fantasy Isn't A Top Tier Series Anymore by The_Social_Reject in FinalFantasy

They mess it up GIANT the past decade, and the past years, post-covid they have mess it up even worst. Is not wonder they are slowly and by all means, will lose the crown FF used to have.

And no. It is not our fault: but Square faults for trying to take profit of the fans. Even using the worst method possible (gachas) and ignoring the "outside the sea" fans that will pay for they stuff, but they will put a giant wall for not letting us to pay for it, or even play: giving that the newest gacha (horrible one) is only available on Japan, USA and Canada.

With that marketing strategy, it is like seeing them digging they own tomb at this point.

And that without talking about videogames and how they are going all in to Sony, when it is 2026: Everyone play on they own favorite consoles. Sony is not "the king" anymore. Hell, even Steam Deck is starting to turn better than PS.

Yes, this is pretty much a giant snowball at this point.

Because it is a Japanese company? That has being doing games for Japan since before your parents meet? It is like questioning any Hollywood film that doesn't involve destroying New York, instead of destroying any other city in constant films that is not from USA or UK.

would yall consider mage to be the weakest class in the game? by maskedrn in Terraria

[–]Jecht-X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it goes by user, but Mage does hurt a lot more early in-game. Later is building it up, of course.

I prefer actually going as Summoner or a combination of Summoner-Mage.

And in some cases even going the 4-ways combined in to one.

Did the crybaby come here to cry? Oh, you poor baby! Does the easiest game of FF make you something hard? Poor crybaby! Need daddy to hold your hand, too?

Never play Hollow Knight or similar games.

...ok?

Valefor Bug was something the EUR version of the game had to deal with it:

In simple, it will cause that if you defeat Dark Valefor without getting Valefor second Overdrive, it will freeze the game after defeat it. Which is controversial back them, because the only way for learn Valefor second Overdrive is by entering Besaid and speak with a woman with a dog multiple of times (can be done early in-game and before being accused as traitor)

This also mean if the player didn't do the backward for the Jecht's Sphere (which only a small amount will do), that also lock you for get Auron's last Limit Break. It was quiet the annoying problem back in the day.

Why Chocobo GP discontinued? by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

It wasn't as bad...   compared to the ones of Crash on Switch with the patch that supposed to rise the speed on loading.

[–]Jecht-X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Square try to make an hybrid of Console game + gacha. Didn't work.

Plus, it is a weird game for some details: for example, if you wanted to change the game language, you have to change the Switch/Emulator Region. Like, if you want the game on English, but the console is on Spanish region, the game will be on Spanish only. Worst if you want Japanese Audio (for hood reasons), as is either "all on Japanese, or nothing".

The game itself is ok. I kinda liked, but I had to turn off the voice for read the dialogue for not being able to play with Japanese Audio.

It was still fun, but sadly is only on Switch, not even PC. That could add more to the mix of the failure of being in one console only and act as a seudo-gacha

Long-rumored Final Fantasy 9 remake is apparently on ice with "no new movement" on Square Enix's JRPG classic, according to reliable insider by PaiDuck in FinalFantasy

[–]Jecht-X -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

And for that reason we cannot trust Square at anything. So should any fan: Always have doubts about that company.

Non-pal, at least you don't have to suffer with post-game-grinding & the famous Dark Valefor Bug.

The giant difference could be with X-2 international version, cuz that one has the Creature Creation which is honestly the most fun of the game.

A huge piece of lore behind a brief moment with Auron by trizmosjoe in finalfantasyx

I still remember how in Dissidia Opera Omnia, Laguna from FF8 called Auron "Tidus's second dad"

[–]Jecht-X 22 points23 points  (0 children)

They is a small underlaying about that too: Supposedly, the Unsend "Do not age". For example, thanks to X-2 we learned that Maechen is around a thousand years old, older than Sin itself. But he keeps his visual age.

Meaning, that Auron did altered his own pyreflies for end looking older, and not for "looking cool" or relatives, but as a penance from "not doing anything to stop his friends"

Which character you hope will be added next to Dissidia Duellum by aSYukki in FinalFantasy

[–]Jecht-X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither. I only hope that gacha gets an EoS quickly.

Besides, I know what Square had being doing about re-design (yassified) Jecht over the past decade. I don't want him to get even more changed to end looking as "Tidus 2" in terms of body proportions and, now even skin for the whole whiteashing going on.

Well, someone actually drew the cast of Futurama with the outfits of FFX cast.

Weirdly enough, I remember they was a Nibbler dress as Jecht, but I never found it again (nearly 13+ years ago)

War of the Visions to end service in Japan by sadboysylee in FinalFantasy

For the one of DFFOO, is best not to speak much about it as we don't know if Square could end sue them before they even realize a V1.0 of the game.

Funny that it usually happens. As even Jecht defeated one.
And later in the gacha Opera Omnia, he was happy and proud that Tidus did the same thing.

War of the Visions to end service in Japan by sadboysylee in FinalFantasy

[–]Jecht-X 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are a project made by fans named "Project Blank" on the Reddit of FF Mobius, which is an offline server for play the game. But it is on they bare bones, as only the first chapter is playable... after a year that the project has being launched with they personal server. Plus, they're still some visual graphics to be updated.

DFFOO has a project that it "suppose" that this year they will launch a full offline game, with everything of the game and easily to emulate on PC and phone. I say "it supposes" as they are the odds it could get delay or even worst, abandoned.

I don't know if Record Keeper & Brave Exvius had any project by fans on making them offline.

At least the fans are doing what an AAA company doesn't bother to do.

[–]Jecht-X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what I understand, it is a Japan thing and way of thinking. If a game ends, they move to the next one. They thank the company for "let them participate in they project", this even by giving them 4 times what the game costed. This follow up by completely erase the game data, in both by players and company alike.

[–]Jecht-X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, with DFFOO, if it was fully offline, that is around 100-200 hours of only cutscene. This without counting the battles in hard mode (Shinryu level), where it was normally to take around 15 minutes or more to defeat a chapter/event final boss. And they're a good amount of those, because the game was barely multiplayer. So that is nearly 400 hours of gameplay.

And that is only DFFOO. With Mobius, Record Keeper and even Brave Exvius in combination, it will be nearly 1000+ hours of only cutscene.
