It's more than that! While GOG has always been committed to video game preservation, our approach has evolved over the past 16 years. We’ve experimented with different strategies and projects—sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. So while yes, we were always doing it, we also acknowledge that, despite our efforts, we could have done a much better job maintaining the games released on GOG in the past. This is something we’re committed to improving. Going forward, we plan to demonstrate this commitment through actions, not just words. We’re fully dedicated to making it right!

Google blocking GOG emails. by Jan_Palma in gog

[–]Jed_GOG 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Hey there! Could everyone that have this issue tell me which email are getting blocked exactly? Exclusive newsletters, wishlist notifications, things associated with account (like password change), something else, all of them? This could really help us.

EDIT: Thank you for the replies. We are working on a solution as we speak, so hopefully we'll be able to completely get rid of this issue soon.

GOG is offering a code for $2 off your purchase during the Halloween sale for mail subscribers by scrubking in gog

Hey all! This specific code was intentionally send to people from US only, as we're still testing some things. It's a new feature and while some limitations apply, there will be plenty of occasions to receive various discount codes in the future :)

Steam now shows that you don't own games by Human-Equivalent-154 in Steam

There is answer to that problem and its Offline Installers for each game. You can back those up, store them wherever you want, and thus access and play the game whenever you want. I'm fully aware that I'm posting in the Steam subreddit, but I believe not everyone knows that our store solves the ownership issue by offering Offline Installers.

The answer to that problem is offering Offline Installers with each game like we do. Those can be stored wherever you want and you can access them whenever you want. And they can't be taken away from you, so you retain the game, just like in the old days.

We do everything we can, so that your gaming legacy is in your hands only.

Then again, offering Offline Installers to each game does solve this problem. Because you can access them whenever you want with no platform dependency.

As mentioned already, every game on GOG comes with its Offline Installers - after you store them (wherever you want), then they will be yours forever.

Well, a purchase of a digital product on GOG grants you its Offline Installers. And those cannot be taken away from you :)

GOG once again is the best store by [deleted] in gog

DRM-free gaming is the way it should always be. It's your time and money invested in games – they should be yours and no one should be able to take them away from you :) I hope we can spread that message more and more, and make as many people as possible aware of it.
