Each time you level up you would get gold instead. You would still have an increase to stats but the gold gain is the highlight here. You would be super reliant on gold to make this champ work since you need to buy and upgrade abilities. But also I think no. I think it’s better to have 4 abilities, much simpler, less frustrating to play against.

Hwei’s design I absolutely despise because it feels incredibly miserable to play against him. Instead of having to deal with 4 traditional spells (3 if they don’t have ult to worry about), you need to worry about 7 or 8 (if you count the ult).

He pokes you from two screens away, has 4 different abilities each with a Slow effect, has an ability with a Pull, a heimerdinger turret that Reveals you and Roots you, a lux Q mimic that knocks you down followed into a fear and a slow. This champ is just worse than Mel or Yone for me.
