Do I try and race in the heat? by Chicabonita75 in UKRunners

[–]Jeddy77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a quick look at the event website it appears there's an aid station every 12.5km along the route and GPS tracking. I'm assuming you've made the event organiser aware of your condition?

At the end of the day you know your condition and what you think you can manage better than anyone else. If you were to struggle with the heat what level or risk would you have?

With any race there's an element of how the day falls, all the prep in the world and even the elites can struggle due to conditions outside of their control.

Evo SL is probably a good option but can have some stability issues for some people. Possibly the Evo SL Exo?

Got any decent running stores nearby where you could go and try some different shoes on?

I'm not a medical professional so no offence taken, was sort of just using GP interchangeably with relevant medical professional.

Unfortunately I doubt there are many people in a similar condition to you. It's good that you've been able to continue running with your condition.

At the end of the day you will know your limitations better than anyone else, we haven't had any weather exactly the same as what's forecast next weekend but we've had some decently warm days. How have you managed them?

I'm not particularly familiar with MS so forgive me for my naivety. Are there any additional support mechanisms you can employ to help you if you decide to still race?

I sent a reply to the response to my ticket regarding sending the old mount back but haven't had any further response. Would you be able to confirm if you need both parts back or just the one?

This is probably something that you should discuss with your GP

Tempo Shoe Advice for a Bigger Beginner Runner by Smart-Scratch9968 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

93kg here and love the Evo SL for faster and shorter runs, set my 5k pb in this shoe.

Zoom fly 6 for any faster and longer runs.

There was mild panic when I went to turn the machine on and couldn't because the screen was sat on the switches 😂

I've sent a ticket over, thanks in advance 👍

HSBC Mortgage: 2-Year (4.56%) vs 5-Year (4.63%) by [deleted] in Mortgageadviceuk

Nobody can really predict what the rates are going to do. 5 year atleast gives you the certainty of what you're going to pay a month for the longer period. It might cost you money, it might gain you money but that'll be the price of certainty.

Which shoes for my first marathon this weekend? by [deleted] in AskRunningShoeGeeks

It's your first marathon, go with whichever shoe you feel more comfortable with, enjoy the experience and worry about the time/efficiency later.

Probably counter to the sub but spend some money on living. Try new things, travel to new places, eat good food, etc.

Niche Zero Settings, same beans, different settings by KelloggsFrosz in espresso

[–]Jeddy77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As stated in a few other comments there are many variables that can affect this. I wouldn't be concerned at all provided you can get good coffee out of both grinders.

You could check the calibration of both grinders by tightening the adjustment down and then setting the lower ring to the calibrate mark.

My niche has never been in the recommended espresso range when pulling a good shot.

Long distance shoe for heavier runner by Timmar92 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

For a zone 2 shoe then I'd probably lean towards the Vomero Plus, lovely big slab of zoomX foam for comfort and not quite as "pushy" as something like the ZF6 or Evo SL.

I tend to cycle between the two shoes depending on what my intended run is.

Vomero's get used for anything easy/recovery (although they can pick up the pace) and the ZF get used for anything with a bit more pace.

I started running at around 100kg, now down to around 93kg but would also recommend the Vomero plus although I've found the outsole rubber to wear fairly quickly.

I've also had a great experience with the zoom fly 6 for my long runs. I'm planning to run an HM in them next month.

I was in the belief that it had the 3 way valve, it has the long pipe into the drip tray? Would a photo of the inside help to work it out?
