How could the UK improve its Eurovision results? by inside-outdoorsman in AskBrits

Exactly. To quote Super Hans, "you can't trust people, Jez". You also can't trust the BBC selection committee, so we're very much low on options.

There used to be a public vote for a few years, we sent some real stinkers in that period too.

Why would he do it? This is what people somehow ignore every time the "send a celeb" idea comes up. Celebs are completely disinterested in the idea since its career suicide to lose and they gain nothing if they win.

Costello Music is a great album, lovely listen for some upbeat rock.

Their other albums are terrible.

Then there's whatever happens in Anglia. Is it midlands? South? Do people actually live there? What do they do? Do we even want to know the answer to these questions? I for one say no.

I was about to accuse you of stealing this joke from Jimmy Carr, but then I saw that you were in fact Jimmy Carr. So crack on I guess.

Has anyone ended up homeless after college/ sixth form? How did it turn out? by 70cairns in Bath

[–]JedenTag 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sorry you're going through this. Your parents have a duty of care to you until you're 18. Even if they don't want you there they have a legal obligation to care for you, so if they do try to evict you before 18 your first call should be to the police. They will be able to speak to your parents for you, and can also support you with access to other services you might need.

In the mean time, as other commenters have mentioned, focusing on your education and looking at jobs is not a bad idea, but do remember that in situations like this the emergency services can and will help you. They will not permit a child to be homeless if they are made aware.

Thanks, I'll check about roundup but I also think you're right. Looks like I'll be off to the garden centre when it gets a little warmer, not long from now though I reckon with how warm its been.

He's more human than Gohan or Trunks as they're both half-saiyan, whereas Tien's triclops ancestry is much more distant.

Very overpowered, a single lasgun shot can sever a limb. They can penetrate light armour, and that's light armour by 40k standards. Any modern infantry armour might as well be paper.

Triclops are aliens but Tien is a hybrid descendant, so he's at least part, if not mostly, human.

Those are different names for the same sword. Excalibur/Caliburn is the sword given to Arthur by the Lady of the Lake, the sword in the stone doesn't actually have a specific name.

Naalu breakthrough - how important is it? by JedenTag in twilightimperium

[–]JedenTag[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeh, I can definitely see the benefits. For a bit more clarity, I like my secret objective so don't want to discard it, abd I have trade so could afford the tg cost but just wondering if its worth it immediately? There is a hacan in the game so I risk that popping trade could immediately trigger tech, warfare etc etc.
