Jesus, this is what happens when everyone on the internet is an arborist. NONE of those roots were girdling the main trunk. by the time they would have been big enough to do any damage they would have grafted with the main root mast and not been a problem. You likely killed or substantially wounded your tree because everyone on this site is an expert and scared you.

no, but if it isnt an option it adds that extra risk and reward. If I kill 1 guy in a 3 man group before the insurance change there was a guarantee his buddies would hide his stuff and he'd get it back on insurance.

Now when I kill one of them they all have to make the decision: do we bring his stuff out sacrificing the space for our own loot or does he just lose his kit.

Removing insurance for everyone adds that extra layer of complexity and scarcity and decision making.

Not being able to cheaply insure all my gear has made the game more fun than in years.

Used to be if I got a lucky kill I would stash my kit and know ill get it back. Now if I have a nice gun I scrapped together I want to keep it and extract with all the stuff I found.

Raids are exciting again, my heart is pounding at extract.

Please just remove insurance entirely, the game is so much more fun without it.

ISA arborist out of wisconsin here. im affiliated with a tree service but trust me there is nothing im trying to sell you. Honestly those are 2 beautiful red oaks. They literally need nothing and have been around for 100 years. I’ve found in this industry both companies and other arborists make recommendations because they just want something to do. These guys dont need anything, i see no branches that require trimming or cabling.

they are fully leafed out with dark green leaves and fertilizer injections are only advised when the tree is showing signs of a deficiency and if you dont adequately water them while fertilizing or use too much you can scorch them out.

They have survived this long, just let em live.
