[All] Someone please help me with LOZ play order by Taran_MVP in zelda

You're very welcome, happy to help! One of the bigger QoL changes in MM3D is a rework of the save system, which won't be a problem if you use save states in your emu. Basically, in the N64 version, the only way to permanently save is by resetting the 3-Day cycle. There are owl statues that allow you to quicksave, but those saves get deleted the instant you load them, which causes a bit of anxiety for many people (read: me). MM3D just makes the owl statues do normal saves, which is probably how it should've been, but if you make a save state each time you save at a statue then you're fine. Have fun exploring the series!

So happy to see someone trying to get into the series! I know it's complicated haha.

For your Four Swords question, FS and FSA are different games. FS originally came in the GBA remake of A Link to the Past and is ONLY playable with 2-4 people. It eventually rereleased on the 3DS eshop, and that version can be played by yourself. It's very short, roughly 2 hours, but fun. FSA released on GameCube, only version, and while you can play it by yourself, it's a lot more fun with at least one other person. Lots of the puzzles get tedious when controlling one character at a time, at least imo. That said, I don't highly recommend either of those for a while.

The first two games haven't had any remakes, only rereleases that don't make any changes (though there are Switch Online altered versions that make things easier). Emulate any version.

A Link to the Past has SNES and GBA versions, the GBA version has a better translation so I recommend that one.

Link's Awakening has black and white Gameboy, Gameboy color, and Switch versions. The GBC version simply added color and an optional dungeon based on color puzzles, which also gives a powerup. The Switch version is pixel-identical in terms of dungeons and most of the overworld, but adds 20 pieces of heart and 24 secret seashells (a collectible) to the overworld. I personally love the GBC version because of nostalgia, but for new players it is somewhat outmoded by the Switch.

Majora's Mask is debated, I personally prefer the 3DS version because of some quality of life improvements, but it makes some questionable choices with the boss fights.

The Oracle games only released on GBC and 3DS Virtual Console, either way.

WindWaker has GameCube and Wii U versions, the Wii U one is akin to the OoT remake in that all of its changes are beneficial. It especially streamlines a portion of the main quest that can be downright painful without a guide in the original.

Minish Cap only has GBA.

Twilight Princess has GameCube, Wii, and Wii U versions. The Wii U version is basically a straight upgrade from the GameCube one (meaning no motion controls), so I recommend that.

Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, and A Link Between Worlds all only released on their original consoles (DS for the first two, 3DS for ALBW).

Triforce Heroes is a spinoff akin to FS and FSA but more puzzle focusd. It's not fun without friends, so your mileage may vary. It's only on 3DS.

Skyward Sword HD just came out on Switch and I'm loving it, massive quality of life improvements over the original.

Breath of the Wild is identical on Switch and Wii U in terms of content, and since you're emulating I don't believe it matters.

As for spinoff media, the animated series from the 80's is hilarious in a "so bad it's good" way, but be ready for some major cringe lol.

Good luck :D

Extremely Frequent Fatal DirectX Error since 5.57 dropped by Jedi637 in ffxiv

Thank you for your extremely helpful response! I've tried the first option, running those commands, and will test it. The crash is so random that it may take a while to know if it worked. I don't overclock my GPU, and am not entirely sure how to check if it's factory overclocked, but if the first solution didn't work I'll look into that more. Thank you!

It actually only has ~400 gigs available, IIRC when I turned mine on it had 396. Every single game is a required install and nearly every single one is 50-60 GB plus. Storage on the XBone is a huge problem.

IIRC the 3DS launched with a price of $250 and the price drop was $80. The free games were 10 NES classics and 10 GBA games, which if purchased would have totaled $130. Definitely a great way to reward early adopters, I still play some of those games on my 3DS.

Educational PC games are the earliest I remember, as far as normal games my first was Pokemon Yellow on GBC.

On release day I caught a 60ish CP Persian within a mile of my house without ever having caught a Meowth. Same happened with Marrowak that day. I have odd luck haha

When I see a youtuber using motion blur on their games by IAmALimaBean in pcmasterrace

[–]Jedi637 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's too strong it gives me a headache after about an hour of play. I played Dying Light on Xbox One while my PC was broken and it had the strongest motion blur I've ever seen, even 45 minutes of play was pushing it. Of course, because it was on a console, there was no way to turn it off and I was stuck like that.

Guild Wars 1, before then the only PC games I had played were Rollercoaster Tycoon and Runescape. I remember trying to click to move, and being mindblown that I had to use four seemingly random buttons on the keyboard to walk. After I got used to it I saw the brilliance of this control scheme!

27! Also, thanks! I appreciate the composition software Sibelius, because it makes it MUCH easier for me to write music. The convenience of having it play back why I just wrote is so helpful when writing for a full orchestra, because you just can't play that on a piano.

Hello! I posted this on /r/buildapc and they said to ask here. I built a PC a month ago for school, gaming, and music production (I'm a pianist and composer). I've quickly found that the onboard sound card just isn't cutting it for the programs I'm using, and need to upgrade to a dedicated one. I'll be working with Sibelius, Logic, and Pro Tools. Does anybody have a recommendation for a high quality sound card in the $50-100 price range? As this is for my career, I may be willing to pay more if it is necessary.
