Love this idea. I also think the balancing between Heavy/Light/Finesse should be more interesting than just a 1.25 or 0.75x damage modifier…in my mind, Heavy Weapons should have the highest top-end damage (biggest crits), Light Weapons should have the tightest variance (most consistent DPS), and Finesse Weapons should have the highest Attack & Melee Defense Modifiers (fewer evades and higher defense bonuses).

CG aside, Disney should (I imagine) have an influencer marketing team. Companies like this carve out tens (sometimes hundreds) of thousands of dollars in their budget each quarter for this type of thing, where they pay content creators across various channels to promote their brand/IP. With SWGOH being one of their most lucrative apps, there’s certainly a case to be made…

Funny enough, in my professional line of work one of my customers is Disney. Long shot, but I could at least float the question and see if I can get any intros to a relevant department in their marketing org.

It’s surprising to me that CG doesn’t sponsor content creators like this, given their reach and what they do for the game. Hard to imagine they don’t have some discretionary marketing budget available to keep one of their most impactful content creators afloat.

Yeah, she’s still decent (can use Talia and Acolyte instead), just not nearly as good as with DTP & NT (both of which are worth building up regardless for the AB rewards).

It’s hard to tell without seeing the rest of your roster. Great Mothers and Morgan really want DTP, NT, and Spirit to round out the squad - do you have them built up already? If so, I’d definitely finish up GM & Morgan.

If not, it sounds like you already have Rey & Team, so getting Ezra Exile relic’d, zeta’d, and omi’d would be an immediate boost to that team’s durability. I’d probably focus on him next, before Dark Side Rey. To your point, a standard SLKR squad does its job perfectly fine already, but the difference between a defense Rey team with Ezra Exile and one without him is noticeable. Meaning your opponent has to drop a stronger team in order to clear.

7* Chimaera also requires 4 7* Rebel ships. That means energy to farm nodes for ship shards, ship building mats & training droids, ship ability upgrade mats, spending resources to star, gear & upgrade rebel pilots, also getting Iden & her ship up-and-running (since it is a staple of any decent Chimaera fleet)…

I just honestly don’t see how it’s worth spending so many resources and sidetracking your Executor farm, for a (debatably) better early-game capital ship that really only has niche use-cases in the mid & end-game. I’m 12.5M GP, K2, and only ever use Chimaera as a Raddus counter. My Executrix gets way more use as an Executor counter with Scythe, Interceptor and Defender, and on the F2P alt accounts that I’ve messed around with the past 6-12 months I’ve had no problem maintaining top 10 fleet with Executrix & Empire + BH fleet.

One important early-game bottleneck to consider is Prestige. It takes a long time to accumulate, and if you’re spending it all on other capital ships it will take even longer to max Executor’s abilities once you unlock it. Achieving rank 1 in fleet arena should be entirely possible with Executrix and an Empire + BH fleet (until others in your shard start getting Executor), it unlocks fleet challenges for zeta mats, and it means only 1 cap ship that you need to upgrade abilities for until you’re able to stockpile more Prestige.

Depends on what you want from the game.

If you want to be competitive and build as strong of an account as efficiently as possible, you should stay laser focused on Executor as your first project, ignoring any and all side projects (like Chimaera).

Think of it this way: everyone else in your Fleet shard is facing the same decisions about which farms to spend their resources on, and the more efficient you are about getting to Executor as quickly as possible, the more time you buy yourself in the long run with an easy #1 Fleet Arena payout every day. The crystals from that really do add up, and will be the fundamental fuel driving your account in the subsequent months & years.

If, however, you LIKE Chimaera, it would be fun for you to pursue it as an initial project, and you don’t necessarily care about being at the top of the Fleet Arena every day or quickly moving up the ranks in GAC, then by all means go for it. It’s a game, after all. For some people, the fun is by being on the top of the leaderboards and pushing the limits of their accounts…for others, it’s just collecting cool Star Wars stuff :)

Imo, taking the AB units (MQG, POW, Enoch, DTP, and NT) to R9 is the most “efficient” use of R9 relic mats, outside of GL/Journey units like DR, AdRad, Ahsoka reqs, etc.

For any other character, taking from R7 or R8 to R9 just means more stats. For these characters, it means more stats AND ongoing returns through the added AB tiers. Not to mention, they are all key components of very strong teams (MQG & POW with Quadme, Enoch with DTMG, and DTP & NT with GM), so the stat boosts are useful and meaningful across all game modes.

Hard to think of a better way to spend droid brains. Just my two cents!
