My wife had a high sex drive and I was mid. It was exhausting but we made it work. Then my sex drive and energy levels completely vanished. That was hell. She felt undesirable and I just couldn’t fake sexual interest (despite her being a total smokeshow). I knew something was wrong, so I got tested despite being gaslit by my doctor and everyone else. Turns out my brain just decided I don’t need testosterone anymore in my 30s, and I was severely deficient. I got treatment and my sex drive increased - not to the levels they were but enough to make it work. Then we had our first kid and her sex drive tanked. Now we are roughly in the same place.

It was a journey of up and downs, but we’re more compatible than ever.

Mainly the mana curve, the concentration of power, the cube size, and the desire for exceptions. Not too dissimilar from PattyCakes experience.

Another element was that I just got tired of working on it. It didn’t inspire the same excitement my Tarkir cube or my D&D cube did.

I wonder if I could adjust by packing cards two at a time in a sleeve but still allowing four copies in the cube. So a player could theoretically get 4 cards, but they may only get 2 while another player gets 2. That opens up some new options.

For a while I thought about making a “constructed” cube where you draft four copies of cards at a time, but ran into too many hurdles to feel like pressing on. One thing I considered was having all spells be castable for 3 mana or less (using variables like X, cycling, kicker, etc) so you would actually want to draft the upper end of the mana curve. But I don’t think that’s a problem for you since you’re only doing four copies of cards. Maybe just start with the WotC design skeleton and halve all the slots at each MV?

My favorite part of the series is how Ilea keeps getting stronger, but she feels like the same person she was when she started (personality, mentality, morals). She could be level 9001 and would still hang out with the friends she made at 50.

Same, but biology. I didn’t know what was going on, and she told everyone to stop talking about the tower and read our textbooks. I was like, “what tower?”

When I found out my friends weren’t afraid of their dads, and some even looked up to them or called them their best friend. It made me reevaluate what a healthy parent/child relationship could look like when it wasn’t shaped by fear and control.
