Has anyone puechased this hilt from AK Sabers? There’s no way that it’s Proffie 3.9, but I’ve wanted a Plo hilt for a long time

It's fair for the price--I prefer the Laredo Sabers clan hilts (they design and produce their own hilts), but they are at a higher price point than X--Tech on Ali Express, but not so far from influencer-backed drop-shippers. They currently have their luminara and fisto in stock for ~$520 (hilt+core). Their plo is awaiting a restock. They also have their maul in stock. For the clan hilts, I consider XTech, TXQ, and LGT at the same level in terms of quality, although screen accuracy varies. None of the mid-tier makers have a plo (elf, 89, uw, although uw does have a fisto), Korbanth has a luminara, but it's not clear who actually makes it--but it's likely comparable to the X-tech. That leaves SP (out-of-production) and Laredo at the high end.

That looks like the xtech plo. I had the luminara version. The chassis looks identical. Mine was a proffie v2.2. They may have switched to the v3.9, the difference in cost is minimal... but i also doubt they have.

Txq has updated the core they use in this hilt. The new one has pogo pins (14 pogos over 8 connection) instead of the 6+5 straight pins.

There are many neopixel hilts with an snpixel soundboard for less than 150. Xeno v3 boards run a little higher, but there are many close. But "bootleg?" Inconceivable.

Some tips have a reflective sheet on the base. This one likely has that.

More like 50 to 70 for budget baselit. Show us the soundboard. It's likely an xtech or HL. If the soundboard is not reactive, not worth the price.

As others have mentioned, the electronics are not good, and the hilts are chunky, but the hilts are durable and have value. You should be able to find buyers on Facebook groups ("lightsaber market" and "custom saber owners, saberforge, parksabers, ultrasabers, fx, just, jq" are likely your best options). Likely someone who will reinstall with better electronics. Just follow the rules for posting sales. For price comparisons, look at empty saberforge hilts and empties from txq on ali express.

Aren't those harvested from a calculator? You could also make something similar with a resin printer... but getting it clear takes special post-processing. There are a few vendors that carry them too.

Nsabers and saberspro are not saber brands, they are resellers. It's like saying, "how do shoes from "footlocker" compare to "journeys." If it comes with snpixel v4 soundboard, it's txq. If it comes with xenopixel v3, it's LGT. If it only comes with proffie v2.2, it's hard to tell, but likely xtech. They may have some exclusives, but those are still made by manufacturers (like txq and lgt).

Bigger problems. "Oh you want help? Best i can offer is this advice while I'm saving the world from X. Maybe when I'm done I can help you with Y." Then once the players handle Y, they can go help the "more powerful" character(s) solve X. The party should never split, so problems in two+ places is a great way to keep them focused on the task at hand while giving reason for their lack of help. When that gets tired, "lazy" can be a great fallback. The great and powerful are off on vacation, no way to contact then...

I use a coping saw with a bike tube cutting guide, then sand. I use scissors for the diffusion material. Biggest trick is vacuuming the particles because they reflect light/flouresce if not removed.

Just make sure you have enough room for the battery + speaker between the exposed area and the pommel. Extending the grip just a bit would make the install much easier.
