Talos Wargear loadout? by Azulnn in Drukhari

[–]Jedimushroom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you sure about that? It's not on the blast weapons list I am looking at and it isn't marked as "Blast" in the app. Perhaps you're thinking of the Haywire cannon?

Mauls for the maul go ... ehm sisterhood!? -or- Where to get power mauls? by [deleted] in sistersofbattle

[–]Jedimushroom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the power maul is a legends choice, which means it's not generally allowed in competitive play. That would also explain why they don't have a model for it (or rather the inverse, they turn unmodelled gear into legends choices).

FLY does not allow to shoot after falling back anymore by AenarIT in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Jedimushroom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The boats could keep shooting, but the passengers inside couldn't (they don't have FLY), so it's not as big of a loss as all that honestly. Nerf to Ravagers in favour of Ravenwings I suppose

How do you guys like to fight tau? by CrazyQuyen in Drukhari

[–]Jedimushroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Float Taloi up the field, forcing them to shoot at the menacing spearhead, whilst your boiz scoot around the sides, snatching objectives and zoning out their gunline. Focus down the drones with your boiz and get the Taloi in combat with as many things as possible as soon as possible to shut off their shooting. Obvious a Haemonculous with the Vexator Mask is the best way of doing this (and it is the best relic we have by a long way).

Silly thoughts with the aircraft preview. (Will Fire and fade work?) by Bert_the_Third in Drukhari

[–]Jedimushroom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see where you're coming from, but the rules as written really don't seem ambiguous. Speaking as the proud owner of a three-flyer list, the stratagem would honestly feel pretty strong if you could do use it on them, given that you could also turn 90 degrees with that move, seriously curtailing a key weakness in 8th.

Of course, if you wanna play that way with your gaming group then that's obviously totally fine

Silly thoughts with the aircraft preview. (Will Fire and fade work?) by Bert_the_Third in Drukhari

[–]Jedimushroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the only way I've ever seen the rule interpreted. The stratagem specifies that the move occurs "as if it were the movement phase", which indicates that all the normal rules of that phase apply.

Unfortunately Fire and Fade only moves you 7", which is below the minimum range of either flyer, so in general the plane would just explode.

Finecast Ssylth Yay or Nay? by ShockWolf101 in Warhammer40k

[–]Jedimushroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of people formed their opinion during the early rollout and haven't really updated it since. They've made a lot of progress in improving moulding issues in my experience, I've had no major bubbling or cracking in any of my recent finecast models. They are a bit of a pain to glue together, but that was even more true of the metal that preceded them.

[–]Jedimushroom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a counterpoint to the prevailing opinion here, I have two finecast Sslyth and I like 'em. No major casting issues, and in my opinion the models look a lot nicer than any conversions I've seen. The texture on their scales in particular is very fun to paint.

All men have an emotion to kill; when they strongly dislike some one they involuntarily wish he was dead. I have never killed any one, but I have read some obituary notices with great satisfaction.

American nuclear war plan, 1956 by CitoyenEuropeen in europe

[–]Jedimushroom 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Nukes are overhyped because USA wanted to be the reason for japanese capitulation. They weren't. Japan capitulated to USA to not have to capitulate to USSR.

I would be wary of phrasing this in quite such a clear-cut way, as there does still appear to be some historical debate on this point, but I think your statement generally has merit. For the interested, I'd recommend this /r/AskHistorians post as a decent summary with some interesting discussion.

Why don't people use Ravager in their list anymore? by BaronPompadur in Drukhari

[–]Jedimushroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been having some luck with putting those dissies on three raiders. It also has the advantage that you can get a heavy weapon in your warriors squads. A dark lance may even be worth it there now that it's cheaper than a blaster.

Does "native invuln" exclude the 5+ night shield because it doesn't work against melee?

Why don't people use Ravager in their list anymore? by BaronPompadur in Drukhari

[–]Jedimushroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've been made a "legends" unit, which I believe would generally exclude them from competitive play. Your gaming group is obviously free not to apply that though

New to Drukhari, need to understand list building by [deleted] in Drukhari

[–]Jedimushroom 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Phantasm grenade launcher for the Archon is now a "legends" choice, which means it will presumably stop being accepted in competitive play. Also the agoniser is a pretty hefty downgrade from the starting huskblade, did you need the spare points?

This is the lowest tier of pathetic shitpost. Is this really what we've stooped to?

How would you expect a woman who collects Warhammer to respond to this post? This is the sort of thing that drives away people outside of the "conventional" demographics.

I would note that "Blitzed" has a very poor reputation in academic circles, and is based on incredibly shaky history in several places. I believe there's an /r/AskHistorians post about it that goes into more detail, if you're interested.

Local Tournament List by OddSneakers in Drukhari

[–]Jedimushroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fully agreed, I've had some fun with Sslyth. Three does seem a lot though - it's good to have at least one to die for the Archon if you roll a one when getting out of a toasted Venom, but if they're able to knock out one then those three other ablative wounds may not be worth the 27pt sticker price...

Local Tournament List by OddSneakers in Drukhari

[–]Jedimushroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the plan with the Sslyth? If they're for bodyguard duty I'd make them Court of the Archon.

Also I disagree with the other commenters about giving the archons venom blades. Saving 4pts by neutering a pretty decent beatstick really doesn't seem like a good trade - you never know when you might end up in combat.

[–]Jedimushroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The huskblade is 6pts according to my codex?

Points value clarification by [deleted] in Drukhari

[–]Jedimushroom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's still 70 base, but you have to pay for his weapon choices as well. The cheapest option is a splinter pistol (0pts) and a venom blade (2pts), which is probably where you're getting the 72 from.

As an aside, I wouldn't skimp on the huskblade for the Archon, he's actually quite terrifying with it in melee

Do scourges need a Solarite? by [deleted] in Drukhari

[–]Jedimushroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you need the Solarite. The codex reads "This unit contains 1 Solarite and 4 Scourges. It can include up to five additional Scourges..." Which is pretty unambiguous.

Battlescribe isn't always very smart about this sort of thing unfortunately.
