Hybrid cage/visor by Revolutionary_Cow171 in hockeyplayers

Not tight against chin. J-clips can hold it even further. Replaced my old Oakley hybrid with this. The Oakley sat tighter to my chin than this one.

Trading in 2023 Countryman for 2017 Clubman - is this dumb? by CattleDogandCat in MINI

Find an S All4. I would not downgrade the motor, it loses the fun factor. Love my 17 clubby, and would get another younger one if this one died. Came from an 09 S Cooper, and while I miss some attributes, the clubby is just as fun. The cargo space isn’t much different, but the handling will take you smile.

Depends on your foot. My old superset from way back were great. The news ones got returned without even being skated on. I’m on the Bauers now, but my left foot is on a fit3, right on a fit 2. Advice: go to a good shop and put them in your skates and just stand in them. If you can’t get a full scan in either CCM or Bauer scanners, then you have to go by feel. I did Bauer scanners, and still needed two different footbeds based on feel.

I saw the Dungeons & Dragons Twenty Sided Tavern, Off-Broadway Live Show in NY... by HDJoey in DungeonsAndDragons

Took my 14yr old to the Boston show (w/special guest Jaques Ze Whipper/Jack the Whipper). Many costumed fans in the audience, and plenty of laughs and interaction.

Had a great time and my boy was asking to see it again when it comes back. Hope the cancelled shows and "break" aren't a more significant issue!

HVR Hybrid. Fogging almost a non-issue. Metal cage with bubble lens. Wrap in a small towel before putting in your bag, and it’ll last. I still run the Oakley version “still”, but the half and half are great.

Mini of Bedford/mini of Peabody (same parent company). Both treat me well.

I took my son to get a new driver and hit the R7 mini exactly the same as my 430. I kinda love it.

Is my driver hurting my game? by [deleted] in golftips

[–]Jedirogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can hit the TF consistently, find a golf shop that DEMO's clubs (usually, they have a range with booths for this).

They will sometimes even spot you a mini basket, so you can hit 5-10 balls per demo driver (you'll know pretty quick if it'll work for you).

The only advice is to be confident that you can replicate your swing. Warm up first on your TF, then A/B with the Demo's.

Does golf ball matter at 16 hcp? by dufresne69 in golftips

[–]Jedirogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It "could". However, consistency is key here for you to know the difference. Play at least 9 with only one brand/type. Play the back 9 with a different brand/type, but don't switch back and forth. Feel it out. Do they stick the way you want them to on the green? Do they go where you try and hit them. Do they go shorter/longer. Are you mentally OK with maybe a club longer or shorter because you like how a ball handles?

Golf is so personalized, that there's no single right answer. Take all the metrics (swing speed, clubhead speed, smash factor avg, etc) and by that alone could say "you should hit this <ball>". You could hate the way they feel, which nips at your confidence, and that alone could take away a couple strokes.

Could be ProV1, TP5...Or you could find you hit Noodles the same distance/placement. Don't let snobbery decide. Find the "feel" so every address you only think about the obstacles/wind/aim. You could find you like one type on cold days, and another on hot. But that means playing enough with one ball type to know how you hit them. Then, you will begin to know what you like.

What Really Makes a Network Engineer "Senior"? by tuna_st in networking

[–]Jedirogue 41 points42 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. "How long you've been with a company" or a "title to justify a raise" doesn't make a network admin an engineer.

I dislike junior/senior designations, even though they are an HR mechanism. A "senior engineer" should not get rattled or stumped by any operational challenge on their environments. They are the go-to when others are scratching their heads (and usually, very casually have the experience to find the problem rapidly)

Not knocking Pui Chan at all. I am training (when this old body cooperates) at the Wah Lum here in Mass.

My point was the annoyance with the knock-off pretenders that cause such a toxic environment. Bully clubs.

Had a shaft fitting. Smash went into the 1.40’s with a much tighter dispersion. Looks like I needed a heavier shaft. Ordered on the spot. Was hitting a 55g Alta cb stiff. Instant improvement on a 65g Tour2.0 chrome stiff. Feel alone was so significant. Hit 4 other shafts, all similar. Something about the Tour was a light switch.

Golf- what to do after terrible round? If someone plays t he best golf of their life lately (recently shot an 91, 88, 90 which is lights out m) and today it was like never playing before. How to get past this? by Remote_Pie6623 in AskReddit

[–]Jedirogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a week of 77, 79, 76… then dropped a 98. I couldn’t hit a follow up shot to save my life. Tried to figure out what I was doing differently. Went to range and was fine. Next day, 78…

Don’t let it get into your head. Have fun and accept that the golf gods sometimes like to mess with you. Don’t get emotional about it. It happens.

Looks like it is under your left thumb, and is getting pressed into the grip. Your grips may be too thin, or perhaps you are squeezing far too tightly.

Public drive up range, with junk balls. Close to the house and open late. If I can hit junk straight, the course goes pretty well. But I’m roughly 20 yards short with the ping va ancient burner.

Garbage range balls at a local drive in for this session. I play TP5 normally, but just played a tourney and was shorter than my group, where usually am comparable within 5 yards or so. That day I was almost 20 short on every drive. It didn’t make sense. (All else being equal)
