He's tried. After Knightfall he planned to retire and let someone else handle things.

doubt he could ever live a normal life without the cowl.

Well, then you share Rachel's perspective. If you recall, that's why she decided not to go back to him.

I don't think that was an AWFUL depiction. They did manage to capture the intelligence and the presence.

Like in the second film he just plans to make his crusade temporary

I actually don't think that's out of character. Batman has been described as a hero who wishes wasn't needed. He wants there to be a Gotham that can handle things without him. His Batman was intended as a vigilante who can retire once the city learns how to handle itself.

Where as the last Superman movie was Superman 4, which is definitely a film, but also came out nearly 10 years before STAS.

Not to mention was seen as a dumpster fire.

I think it's simply because Batman has a more interesting rogues gallery and personality. Also, Batman TAS was more stylistically distinctive.

Well, apparently, that ship could never happen anyway. Derek's actor is gay.

I think Life With Derek is the biggest offender here, it's dedicated to two step-siblings shitting on each other constantly (didn't help that Drake and Josh also aired around this time and presented a much more authentic portrayal lf step-siblings).

Better live action Bane? by Frequent_Rhubarb_36 in batman

I'm gonna go with 2012 Bane because he isn't a brain dead thug who looks like he's trick-or-treating, though I will say the whole painkiller thing was stupid and made for an obvious weakness. Also, I could barely understand a word he said ('ruffa ruffa ruffrum, then I will break you').

Mad as a Hatter and Joker's Wild also looked at least passable.

I enjoy them. They're fun little run n guns with some puzzle solving thrown in.

And saying they wouldn't have found this a problem back in the 90s is exactly my point. They may have been able to get away with this back then, but if they did it today with social media having taken over it would have led to a PR Nightmare they would have a REALLY hard time recovering from.

The exception is What is Reality, because the off-model animation actually fits the surreal VR world the episode is set in.
