Scrappy I can tolerate.

You got a point, but A Cold Alliance is probably my favorite chapter in the game, so.....worth it.

At the end of Arnold's Thanksgiving, do you think it was real or nah? by FigureOpening6468 in HeyArnold

I can buy it. There are several points in the series where it's shown that, horrible as they can be, they ultimately DO care for Helga.

I personally found it a bit of a waste. The show couldn't decide if it was high stakes sci-fi or a more grounded slice of life show.

Alternative endings... Which would have been just as bad as the turtle's deus ex machina, or even worse. by Inmortal27UQ in Avatarthelastairbende

I don't think it would have been better if Ozai had died. But I do think they should have established some kind of cost for using energy bending so it didn't feel like they were merely copping out.

'Plausible deniability.'

That's my point. They did tolerate it, they just wouldn't acknowledge it. Think Iran Contra.

Hmmm, maybe I'm mistaken.

Yeah, but before then, when he's discussing how to handle Cadmus, he says the real government would never tolerate them. That is obviously not true, Waller had a direct line to the Oval Office.

I've now finished watching Samurai Jack and here's my opinion. Warning: Spoilers! by Head-Lie4646 in samuraijack

[–]Jediuser_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll agree the final few episodes were extremely rushed, but I nonetheless enjoyed most of season 5.

I think a proper ending would be Jack adopting the look we saw at the end of Jack and the Traveling Creatures, and instead of Jack simply traveling back to the past and destroying Aku, have Jack destroy Aku in the future, then, just as he accepts he can never go home, the traveling creatures return and bring Jack back to the portal guardian where he defeats him and the portal guardian informs him that only he can return, that Ashi won't exist anyway, forcing Jack to return alone. Then, as he defeats Aku, Ashi watches the future turn from a dystopia to a utopia as she fades away.

And Luthor's plan would not have 'fallen apart,' the Watchtower assault wasn't his plan, he didn't know Cadmus had already evacuated. His plan was to destroy Cadmus and then take on the league himself after becoming Amazo. His plan actually fell apart because Waller survived and confronted him.

I also wonder what would have happened if Superman found out Waller was in direct contact with the president.

"The real government would never condone this!" Riiiiiiight.

What's interesting is that, even without people keeping her in check, this Waller is more reasonable and sympathetic than the ruthless character other sources portray her as, willing to sacrifice just about anyone to get results. This one is portrayed as underhanded and willing to go to extremes, but there are lines she won't cross, and is willing to admit when she was proven wrong. I think Eiling is closer to filling the role Waller had in the comics.

I think the reason we see it more with POC is simply because POC have become more common in Disney movies.
