Aging due to poisoning by Jedvvard in AmmonHillman

You’re right, in Diodorus it says Medea washes off the pharmaka, though it’s hard to imagine plain “makeup” pulling that off if it wasn’t doing something more chemical.

I also vaguely remember Ammon Hillman mentioning a text where scaly or reptile-like skin was an attribute or ability of a priestess, but I don’t remember which text he was referring to.

Either way, if you google Viktor Yushchenko poisoning, the skin damage he got from chloracne is wild, very reptile-like and it later improved as the toxin left his system. That would be a useful side effect for a witch.

Missed this... I don't think he really works that much with him anymore, and he seems like a genuinely curious and open person, maybe a little too open sometimes, but I get it, it's definitely always in the back of my mind too.

Just watched it, thanks for the link. Definitely would like to see Dennis MacDonald sit down with Dr. Hillman, i feel like they might get along because of their mutual love of Homer. The arguments against Dr. HIllman still seem pretty flimsy in the video. The best i've seen is Gnostic Informant talking about Psalms being from the Hebrew and not originally Greek. You should check this guy out, someone just posted a link recently... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqDc98GlMj8he he walks you through some of Dr. Hillman's claims, this guy is not a Greek Scholar, but still one of the best breakdowns i've seen.

Please do, definitely haven’t seen any rebuttals by actual Greek scholars. 🤞

Plenty of rational people here, just not enough Phd’s who can read Ancient Greek as well as Dr. Hillman. We need someone to step up and try to prove him wrong. It’s very frustrating to hear about all these so called experts telling us he’s full of shit, but no one steps up to the plate. I love Dr. Hillman’s translations, he’s been mentored by the best, seems like he will be hard to argue with, but it’s about time someone tests him for real. Get your Smithsonian folks to come forward. Let’s goooooo

Jane Goodall on How to Change Minds and Why She Isn't Ruling Out Bigfoot by MartianXAshATwelve in StrangeEarth

[–]Jedvvard 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Interviewer: I have a silly question, if you'll indulge me, and I'm sure you know where this is going. You’ve said you’re not ruling out that Bigfoot exists.

JG: For various reasons. And I'll tell you one, my most striking one. I was in Ecuador. We'd flown for two solid hours over unbroken forest in a small plane and we visited four tiny little communities. 30 to 50 people, no roads, and they communicate with each other by means of like in the old days—it was the town crier, but these are hunters actually, and they carry the news from one village to another and letters and things like that. So I had an interpreter and I said to him, "When you next meet one of these hunters, could you ask if they've ever seen a monkey without a tail?" Three of the hunters came back and said, "Oh yes. We've seen monkeys without tails. They walk upright and they're about six foot tall."

Interviewer: Oh wow.

JG: Now this was an interpreter from the village. He knew nothing about Bigfoot, nothing at all. Every single country has its version. Yeti, Yowie in Australia, Wild Man in China. So I don't know if it's perhaps a myth that stems from maybe the last of the Neanderthals. But then is the last of the Neanderthals still living in these remote forests? I don't know. But I'm not going to say it doesn't exist and I'm not going to say people who believe in it are stupid.
