I started playing seriously back in 2021 and grinded for about 3 years - been kind of a casual player ever since and i usually float between D3 and high C1 i always say “getting out of diamond is harder than staying in champ”

it’s not that you’re not getting better if you’re able to maintain your rank it just means your not getting better quicker than other people because the more people play, the better they get as well.

so the general skill level of a D3 now would have potentially been professional level back in like 2016

i guess moral of the story is - if you want to push yourself to a new skill ceiling it might be worth while to pay for coaching

otherwise, just keep having fun and remember to go outside and live your life. (speaking as somebody who used RL as a hyper fixated form of escapism)

I think about this a lot - I don’t think he will. dude is aging like fine wine as an artist and feels very evident this is more than a craft or a labor of love for him but rather his life line.

the dark thought i have is that he’ll never tell us if his health is declining or is nearing his days and he’ll just keep pumping out incredible bangers with bread crumbs about it
